Gordon Rigg (Nurseries)

I regularly shop at Gordon Rigg, but have discovered recently their website (http://www.gordonrigg-gardencentres.co.uk/) has some of their products on.

Had some Hozelock connectors delivered to me recently by post (which was cheaper than the petrol to drive there!)

i use both branches of gordon rigg, especially at christmas, always have good selection of plants etc and nice displays, also good for pet supplies.

I find Gordon Rigg garden centres to be pretty good. They do have a wide variety of plants, seedlings and also have a pretty reasonable mill shop over the road from the garden centre in Todmorden. B&Q's fine and pretty cheap for a standard plant or conifer but i find a lot more plants there at Todmorden branch that i find i want rather than in B&Q.
As for price, well, as again B&Q do have an upper hand on some plants such as pansies etc but overall find B&Q a little more expensive for plants but as i do just shop around. If it's general stuff then B&Q but everything else then it's off to Gordon Riggs as we've visited a few garden centres around the area and find Gordon Riggs to be the better on price when you compare garden centres.

This is a smaller sister branch to the main Gordon Riggs in Todmordon.

They have some great displays but I really just use it for ideas; it's VERY expensive.

Gordon Riggs is a great all year round garden centre which is conveniently located just off a new motorway extension and exist in Kingsway, Rochdale. The plant and flower stocks change seasonally and the items usually have helpful tips and information on the suitability.

There are sections of the centre suitable for most purposes, from gravel and rocks to statues, fountains and pond liners. The pets section always has a great selection of fish too.

My one gripe is that Christmas always comes VERY early to Gordon Riggs, with a strong emphasis on a very large (and impressive) seasonal lighting display. It could just do with arriving a few weeks or months later than it does though. That said, it’s especially great for your pick of healthy, juicy christmas trees.
