5 reviews of Browns Of Chester in English
It’s difficult to appreciate how big this department store really is because it is sort of buried in the middle of all of the shops around the walkways in Chester.
Inside, it is also a real labyrinth of little alcoves divided by stairs, wooden beams and stripped wood flooring which all give it a certain charm appeal.
Inside they sell a multitude of items, from perfume through clothes and onto numerous electrical items. Generally I would compare it o the likes of John Lewis in that it is more up marketing what it sells.
Christmas time can get ridiculous because it can get packed with shoppers, which is particularly bad given the labyrinth layout.
when i’m dragged here on a shopping trip i actually find myself wandering off and enjoying the adhoc nature of the set up of browns. you will find allsorts in here and they have a good sale on at the moment.
if your here with your wife/girlfriend dont plan to pop in and out as that aint going to happen!

This is a large department store where you can find really gorgeous bags, shoes, make up and perfume on the first floor and loads and loads of clothes on the second floor. This place really is fantastic for womens clothes - like debenhams it has all the usual brands such as Jane Norman and Oasis, and it has a great underwear section with huge variety of pretty knickers.
It also has a wedding section with loads of higher quality dresses. Of course these come with a higher price tag that the high street stuff that can be found there but this is where I would come to look for something to wear for a special occasion.

this has everything under one roof, absolutely everything from underware to shoes. it even has a couple of resturants which sell nice food although it is a little pricey the only problem with this shop is I always get lost

This department store is a Chester institution where it’s shops inside are arranged in a higgledy piggledy fashion and the place needs air conditioning! Nevertheless, it’s my favourite place in Chester to shop and is largely occupied by Debenhams. it’s got lots of different sized areas and you have to be prepared to explore to find everything you are looking for. it houses perfume counters, a cafe, restaurant, luggage section, home ware section, ladies fashion, menswear, gadgets, childrenswear, lingerie and sleepwear, costume jewellery, finer jewellery and watches and a good footwear section. The staff are friendly although the decor is a little dated.
