I have been shopping in the Honey Tree since 2001 and can only say that everytime I have been in there I leave with a smile on my face as well as a bag (or box) full of produce that genuinely makes one feel good. Have been particularly impressed with the organic meat selection as well as the many condiments (e.g. the fresh curry sauces are mint) as well as the deli counter selection with its always changing selection. The staff at the shop have also always been superb and offer great advice on things. They have also clearly spent time selecting the best goods and do a great job in presenting them, something that many 'alternative' or organic stores tend to fall flat on. Simply recommended just make sure you dont go shopping when you are hungry (except you could always munch one of Elaine's cakes to stop you emptying the shop).
A suburban food paradise ! Small shop with an obvious relish for great tasting food. They have a good range of organic fruit and veg - thats the first thing you notice when you walk in - and I always buy my porridge oats here - they sell them loose over the counter - also have an ecover refill service which I like. Only thing missing is a bike rail.
Just what the street needs to lighten it up. You can tell that the manager is truley passionate about his product, and he's got it right.
I advise you try the organic sausages, the deli counter and anything else that takes your fancy. You'll be glad you went.
Lovely little shop in the heart of Heaton Road’s very few select shops. I do love a browse in this little shop which itself is dark but still warm and welcoming. However it’s a little out of a student’s price range. It has freshly baked goods and a delicious looking deli counter. It also sells a lot of organic and healthy alternatives to the nations favourites such as crisps, chocolate and ice cream. If you’re a very green kinda person I really recommend it as the staff are so nice.
Small healthfood/organic store in Heaton. Fabulous pineapple cake! Range of goods crammed in with deli counter. Definitely worth a visit. Some frozen food also sold.
