Beatties Department Store

Not as good as it used to be before House of Fraser took it over - but still worth a look around. Has a good xmas display. Lot's of franchises so something for everyone.

Department store situated in Wolverhampton city centre, recently taken over by House of Fraser. Has its own multi-story car park or if you’re travelling by public transport there are bus stops right outside. Good for womens fashions like Jane Norman, Miss Selfridge, Warehouse etc

Dear old Beatties! An institution in Wolverhampton, but it needs to be careful, as it is not very competitive now. Their prices for perfume, for Mrs Ianbaggie’s pressie, were way above, I mean WAY above , their competitors’. Very decorative young ladies giving away the free sprays of scent though.
I can’t believe some of the Chinese tat they were trying to flog, instead of the Departments they used to have.
Come on Beatties, we dont want to lose you.

Beatties has been taken over by house of fraiser a couple of years ago, however, it has kept the Beatties name. It’s a large store with a couple of large floors, and a couple of different entrances. I have never found the staff in the store to be over friendly, nor have I found them to be rude. I get the impression they are not exactly 100% happy in their job roles and just want to hurry and get the day over with as fast as possible. I was disappointed to go in there two weeks ago in a search for an Alexa doll for my daughter, to be told they no longer have the toy section! This is a great pity as Christmas time was always great in the old Beatties with their toy section.

Beatties is a large department store, in Wolverhampton city centre. It has recently been taken over by the House of Fraser. It has all of the departments which you would expect, and in particular there is an entire floor of premium beauty companies, which is the largest in the town. Other floors feature mens and women’s clothing, electrical and household goods, and there are also 2-3 cafes on site. One of the cafes has been sublet to cafe nero, on the ground floor. Other concessions in store include Miss Selfridge, Oasis and Jane Norman. Beatties is very useful because you can get most things you want under one roof, but is well known for being quite expensive.
