Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort

Only a short stay here on business. Located a bit away from the local restaurants and activities on an outcropping jutting into the sea (just look at the map). Friendly staff, but complicated check-in process (you have to personally write down your 16-digit credit card number and passport number on the check-in form, even though they still run the card through to get pre-authorization, and could just as well photocopy your passport).

The room was quite nice, with a double bed and small table, plus a balcony towards the sea (facing North). The bathroom though is in need of work. The tiles show some obvious age, and the bath fixtures are worn. Water-pressure on the shower a bit low. Otherwise very clean.

Did not use the restaurant, other than for the included buffet breakfast. Decent selection of breads, eggs, meats, cheeses. You can have an omelette specially prepared, or choose the scrambled or fried eggs already there. Good choice of juices and tea.

Good value for money during this off-season visit.

My jaw dropped as I entered this hotel. It’s a five star plus establishment and it’s well deserved.

The entrance lobby is oppulent, spacious and gives a grand welcome to guests. The rooms are well equipped and clean. Entertainment is provided in the bar each night from local acts, providing some very relaxing nights.

Staff are friendly and well spoken, English is their preferred language and we had no problems being or making ourselves understood.

Outside the hotel, a short walk up the hill is a bus stop from where you can get a bus to Valletta and on to wherever you wish on the island. Public transport is very cheap in Malta and I would say there is no better way to get around.

This proved to be an excellent base for our holiday and we would certainly visit again…highly recommended.

We stayed here on our Honeymoon in one of the basic double rooms, which essentially meant a bed, a balcony and a bathroom. But what more do you need or want? On our arrival at the hotel we arrived in our room to discover a hamper of fruit and a bottle of the local wine, we’d later discover how yummy that was!

The staff were friendly and well informed ready to assist you in whatever way they could, while the facilities (most of which we didn’t use) were available to all the guests from beauty treatment to the gym to the outdoor pools, barbecue facilities, tennis courts and walks on the grounds.

Situated directly on the beach there was the constant roar of the Mediterranean as it smashed against the rocky beach (Malta isn’t known for it’s sand) which, in combination of the hot hot days and only slightly cooling breeze conjured up everything that you imagine the Mediterranean should be.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay, made all the better for this quality establishement where we spent many evenings relaxing in the bar listening to a selection of live acts.
