Pure Nightclub, Cardiff

Venue for Fuel rock night, which is pretty much a bog-standard rock/metal night out. The music on the whole is a “by the numbers” affair with generic track after generic track. Bar is very, very pricey and you’ll pay well over £3 for a spirit and mixer (beer is around £3.50-£4 as well). The venue is a bit delapodated and the sound system seems to be a bit lacking. Makes for a half-decent Saturday night out if nothing else is on.

EDIT: Agree with the above poster on the bouncers. They are absolute power-mad nutjobs (my GF got pushed over whilst having a fag OUTSIDE then wasn’t allowed back in, and they gave no reason at all for this). She ended up with a broken wrist and a night in Hospital.

We will never, ever go here again.

If you are going to this place, watch out for the bouncers. One of them smacked me in the jaw when I was trying to help my girlfriend up after he threw her against the wall. The result: a double fracture in my jaw, four hours of surgery, three metal plates which will be permanently present in my jaw from now on. Still can't feel my chin and can't handle eating solid food nearly three weeks on.

have been to fuel several times and have never been disappointed,, always been a fantastic nite out, i was also there at tigertailz was brilliant nite, and found rob as friendly as always. cant wait till the next time .

Im going to comment now because I feel this needs to be said. I went to the Tiger Tailz gig last weekend as Im a massive fan and I was happy to pay some extra money towards a charity show.
But I over heard a conversation I wish I hadnt and it will stop me going back to this scum of a place full stop!
The owner (who introduced himself to me previosuly as Rob the saviour of the rock scene!!) was talking to a group of people I presume was staff? was saying how great he thought it was that TJs was closing as it was great for business!! I left shortly after hearing that and wont be going back. Im disgusted and I wont be lineing the pockets of someone who mocks such a legend as TJs as there is no comparission!!

I thought the opposite to the above, we went to Fuel to try it out and it was crammped and I found people a little unfriendly.
The music was ok, but nothing outstanding they played the same stuff all night and they DJ wouldnt play my request!!
Also I got ripped off at the bar and the women at the bar wouldnt even look into this for and refused to let me talk to a manager!
There was also some bald guy wandering round the club slagging off every other night to anyone who would listen!! NOT very rock n roll :/ The words childish and underhand come to mind. I wont be going back again

This is the Venue for Fuel rock club - the only decent alternative music venue in the centre of town. It is a great venue with a decent sound sytem and good dj’s. You can pretty much get whatever you want played music wise and they have a lot of quite rare and random stuff so you can be guarenteed to hear something new.
