we went to my goddaughters wedding on friday 26th april, i was really impressed the wedding was lovely .we then went into the concervatory for  drinks while they had photo's taken. the meal was really good with plenty of food and the staff were really helpfull  and the meal was served quickly with no waiting between courses,  the master of ceremony could not do enough for you. we all had a brilliant day and night and i would say to anyone planning their wedding to check this hotel out it was a great from start to finnish.

Our first visit to Burntwood Hotel was that as aunt and uncle of the bride at a wedding reception. The hotel is clearly well built and of solid quality. The spa rooms etc are very clean and comfortable. Thats where the positives end. On being invited to take our seats in the restaurant for the wedding lunch was about to be served I noticed that several of our party were withour bread rolls. On reading the menu I was pleased to see prawns in a marie rose sauce as one of the starters. I quite fancied splashing out and adding a special touch of mixing a malt whiskey in the sauce.

I approached a gentleman who appeared to be a waiter and politely explained to him my intention to add a malt to my started, and asked if he could supply the missing bread. I can honestly say that after visiting hundreads of hotels all over the world I have never had the misfortune to be served by a rude, arrogant, ignorant and agressive person.

I was told in no uncertain matter that I couldnt and that he wouldnt serve me with the malt, and that I should sit down... the aggressive stare into my eyes were quite intimidating.  Not wishing to cause a scene I returned to my seat as commanded by the waiter... 10 minutes later as the starters were being served we were still waiting for the bread and my malt whisky.  At this time I called the waiter or whatever his title is, to our table to complain. I was astonished at the agressive tone of the waiter/ maitre d or what ever his position is.

The food served was overcooked with the vegetables too soft and the beef too dry.

The following morning at breakfast was not much better, with the breakfast on a Sunday morning being served between 8.00 and 9,30am we decided not to be late. We entered the breafast room at 9.00am with no one to welcome us. We decided it must be a self service breakfast, with all orange juice, grapefruit juice or apple juice  containers  empty. we stood arround fot 10 minutes for the water cocentrate orange juice to arrive.  We were finally served by a waitress at 9.40am asking for our breakfast order.  Our table had not been reset from the earlier customer. with half eaten breakfasts still on the table we were served with our order at 9.50.am

In summary the gloss of a new looking well built property is desperatly let down by the quality of service and produce on offer.   If you dont mind being insulted, by agressive staff, and poor quality food, this is the place for you.. certainly NOT for me. If you dont wish to be disappointed avoid at all costs.

Sorry to hear you didn’t get a response but I believe the complex were having problems recieveing emails in gerneral especially from the website for a while and have only recently found out about it. The company has since launched a new website which is fully functioning. Hopefully you will give the company another chance in the future.

We found this place by accident about a year ago hidden away in the countryside, such a classy and serene place. Apart from the hotel, there is also a Spa, Club, Gym and Play area for the kids, its like a smaller version of a wacky warehouse called Woodys, its a lot airier and modern, with big glass windows! The inside play area is more for the under 5’s but they also have a large park outside for the older kids. The staff are helpful and friendly, and they also have an offer at the moment for Parent and Toddlers from 11.30 -2.00pm you can get a free hot drink if you stay and play.

There’s a Spa, Club, Bar, Restaurant, Hotel, Conference Facilities and I believe you can hold weddings there too.

I visited recently with my family to have a Sunday meal in the Hotel Restaurant and it was awesome! We met up in the Conservatory first then made our way to the restaurant. We were shown the menu and there was an excellent choice of starters, main courses and desserts - something for everyone! The staff are very friendly and professional and the table service was excellent. From ordering our food to having it served at the table was very quick and the food was hot and delicious.

We didn’t feel pressured or rushed to finish, it didn’t matter how much noise we made (within reason!), there were strains of “happy birthdays” being sung around the room at other tables!

Well worth the price, which I think was £15 for a three course meal served to you at the table (we were with family members who paid for the party, so not 100% sure of the price).

Definitely worth a visit for a Sunday lunch! Highly recommended.

I joined this gym/spa last year, worst thing i have ever done, The gym has some amazing machines, and it should be a thriving business, sadly its not, its empty every time i go, theres no atmosphere, (cant hear any music) the place is freezing cold, the showers have never worked, the steam room is open one day closed the next, the spa is over chlorinated, I tried to speak to the manager to complain, He wouldnt come out and speak to me, In the end I had to revert to complain to the trading standards office, to try and get my membership anulled,(still ongoing) a gym like this shud be bursting at the seams from morning till nite, most i have ever seen in, is about ten,
    avoid like the plague
