Ordered a takeaway from here set menu B and have to say it was awful. As has already been said the food tasted dry and reheated. The curry sauce was like water.Barbeque spare ribs were dry and the soup was bland and free prawn crackers were stale! What a waste of £30.Never Again!
A friendly family restaurant serving anglicised Chinese food. The staff and owner are all attentive ~ our large family group were asked if we were celebrating something, we said our parents 50th and a large box of chocolates immediately appeared. The food is good, not authentic, but then again the cooks have pretty much nailed the taste of chinese food that the British prefer. Best to book ahead - a sure a sign of a good eatery when the place is always full
The worst chinese meal i have ever had food tasted like it was left over and reheated booked a table for 8.30 pm was rushed so much that we were out by 9.05pm payed £9.50 for gourmet starter to share looked like a dish from iceland and a total waste of money .I went to this resturant on a recommendation all i think is that my friend is drunk when he eats there . Noodle bar at Blackfen is better and half the price .
The Tia Pan is a friendly restaurant with very efficient, knowledgeable staff, the evening I was there were an asian family there having a celebratory meal and to me, that’s a sure sign of authenticity. The food is great and very reasonably priced. If you like Chinese Food then the Tia Pan is a must.
I recently went to the Tai Pan for a meal and have to say I was impressed.
The service was friendly and polite, the food was absolutely amazing, we had a set meal for two and there was just way too much of it!
I think the fact that the restaurant was very busy even on Friday 2nd Jan, just after the Christmas rush when everyone has spent their money, says a lot about the standard of the food and service here.
We took our time over the food and even though we were the last couple in the restaurant at midnight, we did not feel rushed out of the place, and were even offered a drink on the house.
Very impressed both with the food and the service, highly recommended!
I would say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. It has been in New Eltham for about 20 years and serves some really tasy food which is reasonably priced. The dining area is quite small so when this is busy, which it often is, it can feel cramped. There is a dining area in the basement which is ideal for private parties. There is no rush to leave if you are the last guests and if you are in a big party there is often drinks on the house. There is only one negative which is, dont arrange to meet in the Beehive opposite as it is a dive!!
