I wish that I had read the reviews below before buying a car from said garage. I myself have had similar problems which are as follow....

Car had faults from day one, the engine management light came on causing car to backfire this was day one of receipt of the car. Had to take the car back to the garage a further three times to get this problems sorted.

 Then within two weeks of owning the car the head gasket had blown. This was fixed by the garage. But the leak in the coolant tank which I had told him about wasn’t. So we had to take the car back the day after gasket was fixed to get leak sorted out.

The fourth week we had to then take the car back, again as the lambdas leads where corroded causing the engine management light to come back on.

Week  six engine management light back on car was cutting out when stopped in traffic, I took it back was told there was a sensor loose was supposedly fixed but then driving  next day driving from work cars engine light management back on.

All the time these problems are going on we began to get suspicious of whether the MOT had been done as we had bought the car with a full 12months MOT. These suspicions lead us to phone VOSA who advised us to get the MOT redone. We got another garage Kwik fit to retest the car and the car had then failed the test on the following..

 

Nearside stop lamp not working

Offside stop lamp not working

Centre upper stop lamp not working

Nearside rear direction indicator adversely affected by the operation of another lamp

Offside front windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid

Nearside front front suspension ball joint dust cover excessively damaged so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt

It also came with the following advisories

Front exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases

Offside rear (outer door handle.) passenger door catch deteriorated but the door can still be readily open and closed

Offside rear tyre worn close to the legal limit

Oil leak

Brake pedal anti-slip rubber worn

Rear nearside brake hoses insecure.

 

Totally dissatisfied with the service I have received from them and car was still not fixed properly I asked for a refund. I had to reluctantly take £300 shy of what I had originally paid for the car as the miles I had clocked up from running back and forth to get the car fixed.

The staff were friendly at first but when things kept going wrong they got very rude. It was not my fault they sold the car the way it was all these problems should be sorted before the car was sold.

I very kindly have given a ONE star rating which is still to high!!!

 

 

 

 

I had purchased a car from this garage. One thing I noticed was the sales men were very quick to sell the car. Put it through an MOT + service. After a few days, I had noticed a few problems with the car. The sales men, went from returning every call, to never returning a call, I had to chase them to fix it. Once in the garage it took 10 days to fix two faults. I was told that the car had a Full service when I purchased it, this I found out to be a total lie. I was then told it was an engine service only, all sounded like a load of rubbish. The other two faults, they said were ok and that they would have 'passed' an MOT. Overall, the garage's aftersales service was VERY poor. It felt like once they had sold the car, they felt like anything else was not their problem. One of the reported faults was with brake pads, I was told that they had been replaced, this was also a lie, as anyone can see if brake pads are new or old. I wonder if my MOT is worth the paper it is written on! I have also noticed some suspicious reviews which can only be staff at the garage filling these forms out. All I can say is: Watch out for Whitley Bay Motors!!! Prehaps this can be their new sales slogan!

I bought a 10 year old car from this dealer and it's safe to say I've lived to regret it! The car should never have passed the MOT that they put it through... I brought to their attention the fact that the car was rapidly leaking water while it was still under warranty... They said they had no slots available and booked me in the day AFTER the warranty was up and proceeded to charge me. The car has had numerous problems which they have failed to repair adequately. The last straw came after I took it in to have the CV boot replaced and after removing the wheels they didn't realign them when they put them back on causing major steering problems. I took the car to a different garage to have the wheels aligned, having used WBCS several times and by now having more than a suspicion I was being taken for a ride I asked the new garage to give it a check... This is what they found... Holes in the HT leads, one was held together with tape, The engine mount had 'sheared off' Both drive shafts were severely damaged with one dropping out of the vehicle, Brake pads and discs were down to metal and the rear brakes weren't working at all. In short my little run around has clocked up roughly a grand in repairs. The salesman definitely has the 'patter' and will make you feel like he's ripping himself off to help you and is hurt you could even think otherwise! He's nothing more than a snake out for quick money... His dodgy MOT, shoddy repairs and 'buy em cheap, sell em quick' attitude could, at worst have put me and my family on a mortuary slab... AVOID at ALL costs!

I bought an 8 year old car from this little garage 3 years ago. Since then, everytime I got problem with my car, the owner of the business always try to help and fix the problem. They have got excellent after sales service. I have never known a little garage with this kind of commitment to their customers. The price of their cars are always reasonably good value as well. The cars they sell are not bad quality either. The mechanics are extremely helpful and nice as well. When they fix any problem of my car, they always try to minimise the cost of repairing it, which saves me money as well. Overall, I would recommend this garage.
