10 reviews of The Whitgift Shopping Centre in English
I have come here continuously over a number of years, it never gets old ! , there are some great shops here and they are always improving!
Right up my street!! Good quality shopping. I have made some real “Killings” in suits because of present economic situation. Wife has enjoyed the same savings in ladies clothes. Some good eateries contained within. Recommend it.

It's alright, with plenty of shops stocked around the building, parking is cheap (3 GBP for the whole day), plenty of good restaurants to eat at, but the toilets are plain nasty and full of suspicious individuals. It would be a good idea to be careful as we all know that Croydon does have its flaws when it comes to crime sometimes!

I have shopped in The Whitgift Centre, Croydon for many years, I used to shop there when the Woolworths was on 2 floors and the shopping centre had no roof. However recently since Centrale arrived a large amount of shops have moved out and have now been empty since. I think there are also shops such as the (I think) former Gateway computer shop and the shop next to Supercuts have both been empty for about 10 years.
Apparently for some reason they are going to extend it in the next 10 years. The problem is that Croydon has many retail units but not enough shops to go in those retail units. There are some shops in Central which have never been used in the about 6 years it has been there

The Whitgift Centre is a haven for paedophiles, especially the toilets near Poundland. My teenage brother has been approached twice and offered money for sexual favours whilst cutting through there on his way to college. I have emailed the centre management regarding this matter and they have done NOTHING about it. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN NEAR HERE UNSUPERVISED!!!

Croydon is a “home town” of my husband. This is the reason we visit it almost every month. There are two shopping centres opposite each other on North End Street. Lots of shops are around that area. There is a card shop on Church Street as marked on the map which is the best saving for card shopping.
The Whitgift Croydon:
1. Building Service Management and the layout of shops: 6/10
I got down to level one from Car Park using lift, which wasn’t a good experience for me. The room in the lift is too small. It can’t fit into more than 5-6 people. If with a little buggy it just doesn’t fit that comfortably.
I collected store directory from information stand on level one. It’s showing 100 shops on two floors without showing locations in the list of categories. It is not presenting sales offer or store’s information.
They placed management office and baby changing facilities on third floor. I personally think it is not making any convenient to customers who have babies.
(Management certainly haven’t delivered good support to visitors in the mall, they maybe just target their customers in the local area.)
2. Food and drinks: 7/10
The eating places are located on the first floor and second floor. There are over ten choices of Cafe and restaurants in store directory. (e.g. BB’s Coffee and Muffins, Subway, Starbuks)
3. Value for money: 8/10
Well, they have almost everything you need in your everyday live, and visitors could easily do all their shopping in one place.
Overall, The Whit gift is a good shopping centre for their local people. But they need to improve their building service management and the layout of shops.

The Whitgift Shpping centre is a great place to find all your favourite stores and some nice little boutiques. It offers a range of shopping markets from food to clothes to plants and provides something for any shoppers budget. All the stores are under a roof so no need to go outside and get wet. There are places to eat and it even has it’s own mini aqualand to have a free look at some interesting fish and amphibians.

The whitgift centre isn’t usually seen as the most luxurious shopping option for the south east. However, I find it to be a perfectly, clean, warm, shopping mall with all the major high street brands including River Island, M&S, Accessories, Faith and Body Shop. It was built in the late 1960s and has been slightly left behind by the much more recently created mall directly opposite which has a more stylish and updated feel (Zara, mango, Elle, Next). There is a vast branch of Boots and the main entrance to Alders department store as well as a Sainsbury’s. In conjunction with the other two Croydon malls, the whitgift centre makes Croydon a comprehensive if not a classy place to shop.

I have become a true fan of the Whitgift Centre since moving in the area two years ago. None of the other areas really have a big shopping centre on their doorsteps. The lighting in the shopping centre is amazing and there is plenty of space to wander around without walking around like sheep, one after the other. There are very few stores in the shopping centre still available, which is a nice change. You can get anything you want inside the shopping centre which extends to the North End and then straight into Centrale Shopping Centre.
Whiftgift Centre has three floors, the third is mainly reserved for food places but they can be found throughout anyway. They’ve got both lifts and escalators for anyone unable to take the stairs. This shopping centre is much busier than Centrale and much more welcoming.
