My favourite bar in Folkestone. Still has the spirit of the Sub Club which it once was many moons ago. The Chambers has evolved over the years into a superior establishment under the watchful eyes of the lovely Chris & Liz. Coffee shop upstairs is perfect for a lunchtime sarnie or a coffee with friends. Downstairs you can find more great food, excellent choice of drinks including real ales and proper local cider for the brave. And then there's the entertainment. Always real, always good and always unique. Get down there for a boogie on a friday night - the Chambers is Folkestone's finest bar. By a long shot.

The chambers is a great place to meet up with friends. They serve real ale and in the evenings you can order hot food which is very reasonably priced.
The chambers can get really busy at times and some people do tend to find it a bit claustrophobic as it is below street level.
There is a coffee shop above the bar that serves a selection of hot and cold drinks and meals throughout the day.
The staff are friendly and welcoming to locals and new visitors alike

What a busy little pub downstairs and a lovely busy coffee ship upstairs.

With its good food, frequent beer festivals and entertainment in the evenings this pub is a major attraction in Folkestone. With a wide range of customers it appears to be popular with everyone!

I like chambers as a meeting point but I must say I find it a bit lacking in atmosphere and indeed it feels a bit claustraphobic.

The staff are very friendly though.

Worth mentioning as a real ale fan that Chambers has been in the CAMRA guide for the past 6 years and the beer is well kept. they also have a film club which meets on an adhoc basis and shows cult films - check out their website for updates

Hi famousatlast & thanks for your review!

Have only just started with our review replies, so whilst its sometime down the line, I hope that doesn’t dull my gratitude.

Well were now in our TENTH year in the hallowed good beer guide from CAMRA & still going strong with Ales & Ciders from near & far.

This Easter in fact is our TENTH Ale & Cider festival too, so we’ll be celebrating in the usual way!!

Film club sadly is no longer something we do but lots of other regular quality entertainment is on at The Chambers….check out our FaceBook page or join us on Twitter to keep yourself sharp with whats going on here!

    Regards,

    The Chambermeister!

I can’t believe that The Chambers is ten years old!!! That makes me feel like I am getting old!

The Chambers is a fantastic pub and coffee shop owned by Chris Smith. He started the business as a pub ten years ago and the opened the coffee shop a few years later in the shop above the pub.

The coffee shop offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks as well as sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soup during the day time, ecept for sunday. They also have a lovely rangke of cakes!! It is always busy as it is a very popular place for a yummy lunch. They have lots of comfy seating areas and have a few tables outside for the smokers.

Downstairs in the pub they offer a selection of specialist beers and have regular beer festivals. They also sell hot food in the evenings which is all vety nice. I love the chilli corn on the cobs and the meat balls. The bar staff are all really friendly and will always offer advice on drinks. The puddings are extremly nice too.

There is no pool table any more which is a shame as it was always fun to have a few games. I think they took it away as it took up too much room when they are really busy on the weekends.
