Fence Gate Inn

Ate at the Topiary Restaurant a while back and again tonight. Excellent service but very pricey. Can recommend the legendary bangers and mash, and the Fence Mess dessert. The place is very popular, full of lots of upwardly mobile sorts. Does excellent real ale (Hen Harrier, Deuchars IPA, Directors to mention a few). Not a cheap night out, and difficult to get to without a car (unless you live in Fence), but worth a visit.

Excellent Bar and restaurant. The Fence Gate excels in all areas, there is the public bar area with a real fire burning and exceptional bar food, I went with a friend on Monday lunchtime and it was warm and comfortable and packed. we had passed various other places on route with no cars outside, when we got to the Fence Gate it was nearly full. The staff were ok , efficient and the service was very quick. we ordered prawn sandwiches with chips, the chips were amazing, whatever you order try the chips!!!! Not cheap at £2.25 for a cone but just get one to share at!
the Topariary Restaurant always gets good reviews and everyone says the food is good at the functions there.
