Anyway not going to write a novel, the fact is that food arrived luke warm!! We had to microwave to make it satisafactory!!!!!!! I rang and complained and was ofered £10 voucher for the £31 we spent!?? Sounds like a real compensation!
I said forget it i want my money back to which they said ok and would pick the food up, so now its its 20:30 at night, no food, night off from baby and awful experience!
They did offer to cook fresh which would mean waiting another 45 mins!! NO NO NO! http://www.rilys.com/ never again!!!!!!!!!!
Im so angry im telling the world and uploading this to evrey review site i can as our night was meant to be special and we are both hungry and now re order from somewhere else!
Recent Visit – 9/11/12
I hadn’t realised it had been so long. I have had to knock off a star since my last visit.
Number of people 4 adults, and two children. They did accommodate half portions for the children. This was a combined treat for my wife, and my children had never been before.
They have won an award, but I hear that with a lot of these awards they have to pay to enter…. You’d have to investigate to see how good that award is…as a Muslin friend ignores any of these…
My wife said that they appeared to be resting on their laurels and relying upon their past reputation. I guess we won’t be returning.
What is wrong now:
1. The size of the meat with the dishes is small. None of us were impressed with the main courses.
2. Asked for lime pickle, and had to ask again, because it wan’t brought to the table.
3. I asked for red and green peppers to be added to my dish; they forgot.
4. As it was my wife’s birthday, I asked for them to put a bottle of champagne on ice. This wasn’t done, and was served at the wrong temperature. In fact the wine was served colder than the champagne.
5. They weren’t very attentive, and didn’t notice that we need more drinks, I had to keep calling them over.
The good:
I and my two children orderd the garlic mussles, they were very nice. Others enjoyed their starters.
The decor is very good, and really llooks fresh.
Previous Visit – Dec 2008
Yes, very good cuisine, a varied selection. The noise of the place lets it down a bit.
I don’t think I have done full justice here. Although I know the original owners have sold the place.
Nevertheless, what I liked was the variety of the menu.
I tend to have the following main course, words from their website:
KARAHI MAHARAJA
“A north Indian household favourite, diced chicken pieces curried in thick but smooth gravy,
cooked on the spicy side with onions, paprika and coriander. Served on a cast iron wok,
a dish that has stood the taste of time.”
Really tasty, a place offering something different, by the way of flavours.

Rilys Redditch is the Best restaurant in Town. I was suprised to read the last comment on this restaurant, I don’t think it does it justice as I have also attended a charity event hosted at Rilys.
Rilys in redditch plays an important role in the community as they are often selected to host charity events and also donate prizes too. Food catered for these events are not their usual size, this is to reduce the cost so part of the meal cost can be put towards the charity, and I thinks it’s sad for someone to make a negative comment of the establishment who is trying to play an active role in the community.
I am a regular customer at rilys and always found the food to be very good value for money, the quality is exceptional and way ahead of any other restaurant for miles. I guess this is proven as they have been awarded “Best Indian Restaurant in the Midlands”. We are lucky to have such a reputable restaurant in our town and I am proud to be a loyal customer.

We recently visited Riley’s Redditch for a charity function. We started off by having a drink at the bar – no draught beers on that night. We had a small bottle of lager and a can of tetleys and were charged over £6. The service was very slow and half hearted. The portions were so small and bland that we stopped for chips on the way home. In the present climate people want value for money and this was a total rip off. Riley’s you should be ashamed of yourselves. Next time we will go to the Shahi were we do get value for money.

Visited Rileys tonight in Redditch. The place is really modern and adds a different approach to the normal high street indian restaurant.
The food was good and presented very well. The price seems pretty much on par with other good indian restaurants but their menu is quite extensive and offers good variety.
Would definitely eat there again and a big thumbs up all round!

Really nice Indian restaurant, gorgeous food, I had chicken tikka starter and chicken and mushroom balti with a Nan bread… it was all cooked to perfection and tasted great. Would highly recommend this central Redditch restaurant. Tomo :)

My boyfriend and I went to Rily's in Bromsgrove after a friend mentioned how good it was. We were on our way to another but decided to stop here instead. The food was fabulous, the setting (particularly at a window seat) was wonderful, and we found the service extremely attentive and polite. I then had a takeaway from there a few weeks later and the food was again lovely.
We then took two friends to the restaurant on Saturday and the head waiter remembered us, said how good it was to see us, and all the waiters made sure we were happy with the setting and food. My friends also loved the food, and time flew by, with regular but not intrusive checks by the staff. We hope to eat there more regularly form now on :)

My wife and I went to Rileys, Redditch last night. The food was very good and beautirfully presented and the ambience of the restaurant was good although a little noisy.
The only thing that let the experience down was the service was somewhat slow. We had to rush the waiters to complete the bill.
Final comments, sharpen the service up but otherwise a great eating experience and we would go back again.

WHAT A FANTASTIC RESTAURANT.....Recently visited Rilys in Redditch to celebrate my 30th and it was definitely a night to remember? The restaurant is beautiful and our table was on the mezzanine floor which was great, like having our own party area. The food and service was first class, not to mention the manager, Mukith, who had offered us a complementary bottle of bubbly......well that was more than we expected.
Its hard to find a restaurant today which ticks all the boxes and to know that such restaurants exist like Rilys, and redditch really has something new to offer.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone as I would definitely be returning with my friends and family. If you’re looking for something special, then Rilys is just the place. Hope you enjoy as much as i did.

Firstly i would like to say.that the food was fantastic.
HOWEVER we had booked a table as it was my mothers 60th birthday which they were fully aware & said they would help with decorating table and making it special for her. We booked for 22 people 2 weeks before & we provided 22 £5 deposits as requested. When we got there the table they laid was for 20 people and we had real problems with getting another two chairs as it was so busy, so they said even though i could see spare seats & tables unused. But they said that they were reserved and could not use them.
We had 1 family member come with us for a drink and was not eating, He only stayed for half hour and they would not give him a chair to sit on.
Many friends and family bought flowers as birthday present but they refused to give us any water to keep them in as they were too busy.
Also we bought small cake boxes for people to take birthday cake with them but they would not cut the cake, or clear a space for us to do so as AGAIN this was too much trouble. It was all about MAKING MONEY not LOOKING AFTER CUSTOMER NEEDS.
Also the floor was very slippery & unsafe. Many of us slipped and had to walk very carefully which i would say is a huge HEALTH & SAFETY HAZZARD!!
Definatly won't return to Rily's of redditch again but will return to rily's Bromsgrove as we had very pleasant experience there and staff could not have done enough for us.
This was the reason we picked rily's for such a special occasion as in bromsgrove the staff & food was outstanding. Reason we went to redditch was it's a bigger premises, and due to such a large party we thought this would be a good choice.
I do understand that busy restaurants have alot to do for all customers but rily's must have known how many tables were booked & should have hired enough staff to accomodate customers needs

Rileys is a fairly new (opened in about 2007) indian cusine restaurant in the town centre in redditch. It is pretty much opposite the town hall, you can park at the back of the gym, opposite the new college. The restaurant is very modern and the table and the decor of the place reflect this - very nice and great for a night out with friends and/or partner/ girlfriend/boyfriend. Not expensive, but not cheap, in between. If you like indian, then give it a try.
