Inn on the Prom at the Fernlea Hotel

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to or stayed at. I unfortunately had my wedding reception at this hotel and in my opinion they ruined it.
The staff were rude and inadequate and the so called managers could not manage anything. The first incident was my elderly grandfather being scalded with a pot of boiling hot water to which the waitress said 'it was not my fault’ not as you would expect, sorry was what most people would say. A family member had to administer first aid as they were incapable. This was all bad enough, andthen we went for the meal which was awful. The staff stood watching everyone eat but took no notice of attemps to get there attention. Then it gets worse, the dreadful day came to an end, we went to our 'suite’ which we had to climb over a tray of leftover day old food to get into it, only to find it very basic. There was no complimentry anything which you would expect to find. We went to bed in what could only be described as torture. The bed was so uncomfortable we hardly slept 'for the wrong reasons’. In the morning we made our complaint …. and nothing, no sorry nothing. I will never stay at or reccomend this hotel to anyone. We were going to go back every year on our anniversary as a romantic night away but I would rather sleep on a park bench.
