Review of Fludyer Arms from 23 July 2011

As a long time customer of the Fludyers, I was dissapointed that since the change of ownership the standard of food and service has dimished. Hopefully this can be quickly addressed.

Tombx Planning pplications have now been submitted for a new Fludyers. It will be a really great place

lemmony Do you know who owns it now?

Review of Fludyer Arms from 15 May 2011 (updated on 20 May 2011)

Though the place is in a brilliant location its a pity it isn't being done up as promised by Tim Yeo, the decor is well passed its sell by date. Selling Woodfords Werry so not all is lost it you want a descent pint.

Review of Fludyer Arms from 4 April 2011

The Fludyer Arms has recently been sold and is under new management.

Went there yesterday with my family and were booked in for 2:30. It took until 3:10 to receive our starters (from a very limited Mothers Day set menu on which they had spelt the name of the place incorrectly!) and a further 30 minutes for our mains (meaning we had been there for over an hour before being brought our main course.

One of the people in our party pointed out to the server that the mash on his fish pie was extremely watery and even had puddles of water once the skin from the top had been broken. She replied that it had been like that all day and noone else had complained and seemed rather reluctant to take it back to the kitchen for a different dish. Despite waiting 30 minutes for our mains in the first instance the replacement meal was brought straight out. The food was nowhere near hot and from the lack of heat of the food and rather extreme heat of the plates I think it is safe to say that our meals had been sat in the kitchen under heat lamps for some time!

2 of our party had the roast beef which was extremely fatty, the vegetables were severely overcooked as were the roast potatoes and so the majority of our food went uneaten.

Beside our meal being very disappointing we were also rather unhappy with being seated at a table less than 2 metres away from a saxophone / clarinet player which meant our family meal was quite unsociable as it was far too loud and really not too great. My grandad who is 89 and quite hard of hearing mentioned that it was very loud to another server who said that nothing could be done about it.

Absolutely no concept of hospitality which the food nowhere near even began to make up for. We used to regularly visit this place for food and certainly will not be returning.

Review of Fludyer Arms from 25 November 2008

The Fluders has recently been refurbished and the garish colour schemes have finally gone. In its place is a much more neutral and welcoming pub with exceptionally friendly staff.

Located on the sea front in old Felixstowe it boasts amazing views from its front conservatory with large windows. And being slightly further away from town you will find that it’s not as rammed as the other sea front pubs.

The menu is good and the specials are frequently changing meaning there is always something new to get your teeth around. The pub is separated into two areas, one with is very 'pub like’ with a pool table, creaky wooden chairs and blackboards and the other is slightly newer with netting on the ceiling to give it that ‘fisherman’s’ feel.

Highly underrated pub that serves all day and if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the high street, take a walk to old Felixstowe and stop in for a bite.
