The Hollies Farm Shop

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my partner for a light lunch and a browse after looking it up on the net. The food hall was large and they have a selection of meat, veg, cheese, fresh cakes, beer and wine as well as frozen meals and puddings. They also have a small gift shop selling gifts and cards.
We went to the cafe first to eat and were a little surprised to find it small and the tables packed closely together, it was busy so it seemed very close and warm. We were also a little annoyed that the prices on the menu were not the same as on the website, example the goats cheese salad was £6.95 on the website menu but £8.95 in the cafe!
We placed our order of goats cheese salad and sandwich of bacon and brie and two coffees. The food was very good all said and tasted fantastic.
We paid and went for a wander around the store only to find most things over priced, such as a frozen meal for four costing £16! We bought some fresh strawberries and left. Although the meal had been fantastic the prices should have been changed either on website or menu and the food in the food hall felt overpriced, I felt that although it was all locally sorced you can buy the same or similar stuff directly from a farm shop run by an actual farmer. Nice place, will come back but only when I have a little extra cash.

The Hollies is a wonderful farm shop, it stocks many locally produced meats, cheeses, bread, veg etc etc. The staff here are always really helpful and there are plenty available. They have an extra barn area that they use for christmas, halloween easter and other events. The Hollies have an ice cream and smoothie bar, a garden centre, frequent tastings and amazing christmas food and gifts. It is pretty expensive and not somewhere most people would go for their full shop, but it is perfect for fine foods, unusual ingredients and gifts.
