Confetti & Lace

Wow, I've just picked up my dress and I am over the moon.  It's perfect, just what I'd envisioned.  I cannot wait to wear it.  I would like to thank all the staff at Confetti and Lace in Lakeside, especially Carly who has been unbelievably helpful, in fact the ladies collectively picked out my dress when I came in looking for something.  Seeing all the dresses in the shop can be overwhelming and confusing, so I told them what I wanted and they picked it out for me.  The moment I put it on, I fell in love with it.  The staff suggested I went for a walk around the shop floor to get a feel for the dress and made me feel so special.  I feel like a princess and cannot wait to marry my prince now :-)  I'll be back with pictures.  THANK YOU xxxx For some reason I cannot get the PC to select 5 stars, but Confetti and Lace are indefinely 5 STARS and above xxx

Any brides looking to purchase their wedding dress, please please please avoid Confetti and Lace in Lakeside - they have the worst customer service ever, ignoring calls, refusing to call you back, refusing to take responsibility for any errors - please google Confetti and Lace complaints before going anywhere near them!

If I could give a zero I would! The most appalling shop I've ever stepped foot into! Let me say my sister purchased her wedding dress from here and it was wonderful they must have changed hands as this time around my sister in law had made an appointment here as my sister rated the shop highly, once we arrived we was 15 mins late which is our own faults but couldn't be helped! We was told that they don't know when we would be seen as we were late and a walk in has taken our place which of all the times I have been into this shop they have never accepted a walk in! We said that's fine can they call us once they are free and we will come back so we can look in other shops while waiting that was fine! 15 mins later we had a call so we went back to then be told we were not going to be seen as now they have another client! This was disgusting her attitude was blunt and rude no apology I don't see why they called us back if they wasn't going to see us! The girls at the desk were sniggering and laughing as if they had done this deliberately I was so angry with the service so I said we are definitely not spending our money in here and she just kept on with her rude remarks so please don't waste ur time even looking in this shop they are so rude and don't care what they say to you and will defiantly not offer any solutions just fob u off!

My friend went to this shop, she saw the dress of her dreams which fitted her perfectly and she paid her deposit, the staff were lovely and very helpful.  when she went back for the first fitting of her dress it was a totally different story, after being made to wait an hour they tried to fob her off with a dress similar to the one she ordered but a lot less detail and it does not fit her, they also told her that she is going to have to pay for all of the alterations that are needed.  Imagine the most special and important day of a girls life and you are standing in a shop wearing a horrible dress that does not fit you and crying your eyes out while the owner is being nasty and arguing with you!  Please avoid this shop, it is not worth the hassle, a wedding is stressful enough to organise, you do not need the added stress that you will get if you purchase your dress here!  I am putting this review on as many sites as I can because I want to warn as many brides as I can.

I am about to confront Confetti and Lace Lakeside on behalf of a friend of mine.  At the moment I just cannot believe what they have done to totally destroy the happiest time of her life.  I have done quite a bit of investigating and not happy with the things I have found out about the shop.  I sincerely hope tomorrow my friend will have a smile on her face, and not leave the shop in tears as she did 2 weeks ago when she went to collect her "dream dress" NOT> I do believe this company needs to be taken to task and I hope I am the one who will do it.  Wish me luck all of you poor birdes to be who have had horrendous treatment from CONFETTI AND LACE IN LAKESIDE.

Please please please do NOT order from Confetti and Lace!! They are nice as pie once they have your money in their pocket but turn nasty and vile if you aren’t happy with the product you have ordered.

My friend ordered 4 bridesmaids dresses at a cost of over £600 and two arrived at the shop with snags in the material. What followed from here was an appalling, shocking, utterly disgraceful display of customer service from the staff there, point blank refusing a refund, any type of compensation or a simple apology!!

Phrases like ‘You ordered them, they are your dresses now’, ‘lifes too short to be fussing over dresses’ and ’you’ve still got 3 weeks till your wedding, why are you panicking?’ are just a few of the disgusting things they dared to say to a bride a month before her wedding. They refused to let her speak to the manager and displayed a blatent disregard of trading standards by not offering any type of compesation or refund for faulty goods.

I cannot stress enough how awful this shop and staff are towards it’s customers that aren’t happy with the service. It seems that they could not care less about anyones feelings as long as they have your money. It shocks me how a bridal business can run like this when they are supposed to be catering for the most important day in a girls life??

Please please please AVOID this shop at ALL costs… do not be fooled into placing an order with these people, you will live to regret it!!!

First Impressions are great, really good shop, and very attentive.

But once you part with your money, and they put the order in, its all down hill from then!

Ordered one of their more expensive dresses. had the full treatment, and a really good day when it was ordered.
BUT. they did not bother to call when the dress had arrived, it was massively too big, and none of the proportions were right, and they would only offer 1 appointment ( at the worse possible time ) and they were not willing to make any effort to change the time/date.

also a Friend of ours ordered a Vail from the same shop, and it arrived ripped. other customers we spoke to at the time told how their dress came back with glue on it, marks and other problems.

We gave up in the end, and took the dress away and got a local dress designer to finish it.

do not be fooled by their salesman ship. they are great when you first go in, and your first visit before you pay the money, then they do not care, as its too late!

Had a wonderful day here yesterday. Offered a glass of bubbly on arrival and all the staff were so friendly and helpful, it was fantastic. l ended up staying way past the time alloted for my appointment and they couldn't have done enough for me. Would highly recommend.

I decided to use this shop for my bridesmaid’s dresses, what a mistake.Firstly, the "rush cut" I had to pay for was £50 per dress, then after the measurements were taken, the "consultant' informed me that the alterations were £65 EACH. This is obscene. I have my bridal gown being altered at Jodi's Bridal in Maidstone, for £45, which involves a lot more work! After questioning her twice regarding the sizes she calculated, she ordered 2 x size 12 and 1 x size 2. The size 2 was for my sister who wears a regular size 10/12. The consultant continued to assured me it was correct. So we ordered and I paid half as a deposit.5 weeks later the dresses arrive, but I found out by calling them! I then asked about appointments for alterations should we need to, to be told with a rather abrupt attitude, they only do appointments mon-fri 9- 5, which is ridiculous. We all work!I got into the shop the following day to pick the dresses up, to be told that I have to make an appointment to pick them up, after about 10 mins, a nice lady comes from the back and says she can have them ready in 20 mins for me to pick up. So I went back after 20 mins, to pick up the dresses. First of all they seem to be under the impression I'd only paid £192 deposit and they wanted over £600 from me. I corrected them, told them to take the alteration cost off, and told them what the balance was after my 50% deposit paid 5 weeks ago. They seemed to have a lot of trouble figuring this out, and I had to show them their receipt and my credit card receipt to prove what I'd paid. Then they finally told me what the balance was after I'd told them 10 minutes previously! I paid the balance, took the dresses and left very quickly. Only to get home and find the size 2 was too small for my sister. So once my mum called the shop, they insisted on seeing the dress on my sister. That evening my parents drove my sister to the shop, and the dress was fitted onto my sister. Two assistants were "helping". One said it was too small, the other saying she was "a perfect size 2". I'd like to mention, that my sister couldn't breathe, let alone keep the dress on for any amount of time. We are getting married in Mexico, so this clearly isn't good enough for a hot climate My sister and parents left the shop be assured that they will sort it out. The next day, my mum called the shop and tried to speak to the manager 3 times. The manager said that her ladies said it was a perfect fit, and she's have to see my sister in the dress to make her own decision after my mum argued it was too small. So we had to arrange to go to the shop again. After hearing how this upset my sister, the way they treated her, and the fact that she got so upset, it made her cry, I've decided not to take the dress into the shop again. It’s just not worth the pain and stress. We've since been speaking to Jodi's in Maidstone to see if they can help. Not only are they helping out, they have offered for their seamstress to come to my parents house to pin the dress, at a time that's convenient for us. How different the customer service is? I definitely won’t return and I will be advising everyone I know about their awful service. I just don't trust confetti and lace to correct the problem. So please, please, please, don't waste your money or time with this shop. They are exceedingly unprofessional, rude, and do not make the experience what it's supposed to be: fun, friendly and stress free.

would give this 0 stars if it would have let me but it didnt! I bought my bridesmaids dresses from Confetti & Lace in Lakeside - instantly they didnt really wanna serve me because i look so young, sort of the view i couldnt possibly be serious/be able to afford their wonderful shop. They never once offered me a drink or really helped it was up to me to ask things i needed to no etc. I have 3 adult BM and one 7year old, i didnt want the 7 year old in the same dress as the adults because the adults was a corset top - a 7 year old doesnt need that and i wanted her to look a little bit young - because she is!

They couldnt get me in the design of the childrens dress but assured me it was a one piece rather than a 2 piece - without corset and had little straps. The dress comes in last week, it is exactly the same as the adults - no straps, corset two piece. It looks more like a size 8 than an 8Junior (They ordered 8year old because of her height apparently)

So she tries the dress on, the skirt drops to the floor its way to big, and the top falls down to the floor after being corseted up - thats how big it is. Although they insisted they picked the size for the heigh, she has had to have 5 inches taken off the length :| so basically they ordered the wrong size? But they are insisting they havent.

So we paid £125 for alterations - for each dress (i understand everyone is a different size so i am not fussed about paying for the other dresses) and when we went back to the fittings - non of them fit. They have all been altered wrong. And listen to their excuse…

The shop lady said 'Well there are Next dresses, and Armani Dresses, you have bought Next dresses’?!!!!

What??? £280 Dresses plus alterations (Plus the straps we had to buy for the Little one) and they cant alter the dresses because i have bought cheap ones..

I am so angry with them - PLEASE do not use them if you have a choice, they are so rude and have messed up all the dresses. I have got to go back next week to make sure they have been altered correctly - i just am crossing my fingers they will be ok!

Really great shop! Staff are helpful, loads of wedding clothes. Its a bit deceptive from the outside as it doesnt look very big but when you go into the shop, it goes further back. The manager is absolutely brilliant and the wedding clothes are gorgeous! It is a little expensive but its worth the money.
