Lovely experience, nice pub, great views… Would recommend for a relaxing drink
The view from this pub is great, even though you can't see the jaw dropping view of the bridge from this angle. (There is a platform on the river nearby which has the best view...but you can't take your pint there…..well I didn’t try but it didn’t seem like the done thing).
A friendly barmaid served me a good pint of something called 'dartmoor legend', which I enjoyed outside where it seemed the whole village had emerged to enjoy the sun.
Serves food and has a pool table. The pub actually looks really nice inside too.
Quite possibly the best pub in the world, with cosy wooden benches inside and tables outside facing the beautiful Tamar river. A very local pub, hosting half the village, it seems, most nights. People sit with their locally brewed beers and friendly dogs on the quayside. The food is pretty good. There is a pool table inside too. Calstock is a pretty village on the Devon-Cornwall border, easily accessible from Plymouth.
