Unfortunately I feel that this pub has had its day. Pubs nowadays need a decent car park and strong support of locals which this place has never had. People do not go to pubs like they used to in the olden days and the Alma up the road is not far away and is hardly overly busy. If this did open as a pub again, only one of these would survive, I suspect the one with the car park would win.

A real shame The Millbank has closed - places of this quality and principles are too few. We found it by chance 5 years ago and, although we live an hour away, it has remained our first choice for Sunday lunch, returning dozens of times. Never once were we let down and 99% of the time the food, service and location were excellent.
Thanks to The Millbank and their staff and we'll keep our fingers crossed for a return.

THE MILLBANK in West YorkshireHX6 3DY
is closed, the phone line disconnected the web site down and the place is boarded up. A sad day for millbank.
Please update all records?
In its day among the finest eating places, now a sad reflection of former times. Will it rise again -we hope so

Awful food, shoddy service.
May once have been good but definitely to be avoided now, unless you like being ripped off!

We have eaten many times at this restaurant, and would go so far as saying it was our favourite…...up until this visit. To be fair the last time we visited, we thought it had declined to be average, but this time it was plain unacceptable, and the sparse restaurant was testimony to its decline. Physically, the room is starting to look tired, and the staff are unenthusiastic and inattentive. Jaded service and management who swan around avoiding eye-contact, set the tone. The food was expensive, over cooked and greasy - almost £12 for fish and chips which would have disgraced a takeaway. Vegetables were soggy and limp. The whole experience was pretty dreadful. A sad day for us and we will probably never eat there again.

Lovely place to eat. Well worth the visit, really couldn’t fault it. There was a great choice and it was quality.

This is a wonderful place. It is set right out in the countryside at Mill Bank, and from the outside it just looks like a small, traditional pub. Then you go in! It is really stylishly decorated, very modern and sleek, yet comfortable. You can just call for a drink, but the food is so good you should definately eat here. The menu is great, with several veggie options and the quality is just brilliant. The menu changes regularly and they keep their web-site updated so you know what is on offer. Considering the setting and the quality, it is surprisingly reasonably priced. Definately a place to visit (actually I’m eating there tonight!).
