I stayed in France for a summer and everyone kept talking about the falafel place in Le Marais. i've tried falafel in the u.s. but nothing has really compared or compares to the falafel here!

The first time I tried it was a weekday and the line was decent. On weekends though the line was quite sizable. I paid the extra 2 Euro to sit inside, ordered the extra spicy chili and a lemonade.

A must taste if you are traveling through Paris! Also, its in a great district, so stay and look around! There are many interesting things to see!

amazing amazing amazing.

some fool tried to convince me that the white house in golders green was better, i wouldn't even give it half the score i give l'as.

there is no finer israeli shawarma or falafel wrap anywhere on the planet- and the queue speaks for itself.

hawkers from the competitors on the opposite side of the street will always try and pull you across there with the lure of look, no queue, but doesn't that tell you all you need to know?!!

you pay in advance, collect a ticket and wait in line. say yes to everything, especially the hot chilli sauce. and do ask for an extra napkin, it gets messy!

don't leave Paris without trying one.

I had the shawarma and for 7eur the sandwich was very good. Although I had the chili sauce the flavor remained a bit too mild for me. Does not come close to Mustafas in Berlin at half the price but is on par with many average kebab places.

Shawarma is not Kebab! Mustafas sells Kebab, that's a different food. Just so you know!

I went in search of this place specifically as I had heard its falafels were soo good. The queue was around the corner but looking at the surroundings, the shop is in the old Jewish quarter, kept me interested whilst I waited.

The food didn't disappoint, the service was brisk, through the hole in the wall in the front of the shop, and I ended up with both hands full of a pitta full of crispy hot small round crunchy soft wonderful falafels with fresh salad sauce and hummus. Gods it was lovely.

This place is world famous, and deservedly so. Sure, there's always a long line, but these guys have been doing this for a while, and have perfected the art of getting the line moving quickly and efficiently. Your order is taken just as you get in line, though if you'd like to add to it after you've had some time to think about it, it's perfectly possible.

I'd had falafel from two other places in London since returning from Paris and L'As du Falafel beats them both hands down.

After receiving my falafel, I noticed a sign in the cafe window stating that this place was endorsed by Lenny Kravitz, along with a photo of said musician with the guy who'd just given me my falafel. I'm not sure if that in itself is an indicator of the quality of the falafel here, but I just thought it was an interesting, funny bit of trivia to throw in.

While this place is open throughout the week, I'd recommend coming here on a Sunday, getting a falafel and then exploring the rest of Le Marais, given it's one of the few quarters in Paris which is open and active on a Sunday.

I don’t like falafels, done! However, the home-made lemonades are delicious, the service is quick and despite the restaurant always being packed it remains a nice place to hang out! I recommend the carrot-orange juice -as carrot juice on its own is a bit bitter :)- and it’s full of vitamins! According to the public, they have the best falafels ever! And finally, you can’t talk about L’As Du Falafel without talking about its perfect location on the magnificient rue des Rosiers in the Marais district.

yes it’s worth the wait if there is a line and yes it’s better than the place across the street. in summertime their lemonade is a sweet, sweet refresher. the falafel is awesome, as is the chicken medallion pita (or plate)

May 07: Since we had an expensive lunch, my friend Louisa and I decided to go cheap for dinner. We headed to L’As du Falafel, just around the corner from our hotel in the Marais. We each ordered their Fallafel special (6.50€): A large pita bread over stuffed with fallafel, hummus, grilled eggplant, cabbage, radish, tomato, cucumber. On the table was hot sauce, which we added to our sandwich. This was quite filling and so delicious! We shared a small bottle of red wine (9€). Total 15.50€. We are returning this May and can’t wait to go back again!

These guys have really really good fallafels! It’s definitely a place to go with a smaller group of people; expect to wait a while for a group of six like us. They insisted that we wouldn’t have been able to finish off four bowls of fries along with our one fallafel per person, but we did and it was all very good stuff!

The service is good. The food’s amazing. And for the American in me, they gave us a bottle of ketchup for the table. Bonus points there.

Just to hear the name of this Israeli fast-food makes me drool. Its speciality, it’s understood, are falafels. For people who don’t know them, they are small vegetarian meatballs placed in some pitta bread with loads of delicious vegetables. If you don’t this gastronomy yet, go for it, you won’t be disappointed! The area is really friendly and unusual (it’s called the Jewish quarter).

As everyone will tell you, L’as du fallafel is as good as it gets. The queue on a Sunday afternoon will make that point for you, but don’t worry, it moves quickly and they’re used to it. I never ate in, and I would strongly recommend getting a takeaway, saving the money and eating by the side of the back streets of the Marais. The atmosphere on a Sunday really is incredible, you feel like you’re in the true Paris (even if hundreds of foreigners around you are thinking the same…). The lemonade is also a must.

you must visit this place on la rue des rosiers, be prepared to wait a little because it is very popular. One of my favorite sunday meeting points before shopping in a district where everything is open on a sunday.

Don’t be fooled by the other guys on the street claiming to have the world’s best falafel - that honor belongs to L’As du Falafel.

We solicited restaurant advice before our trip to Paris and just about everyone suggested L’As du Falafel. “C’mon, it’s just falafel…how good can it be?” Holy exploding balls of flavor, Batman! Best damn falafel ever.

tip While they offer falafel to go I’d recommend eating in to enjoy the falafel warm with an ice cold beer.
