It took a bit of persuading from my boyfriend to first go here, but we did and we went again today. We might even go next Monday too as I am thinking of starting ‘Monday Club’ as on Mondays all pancakes at My Old Dutch are only £5!

I haven’t had a sweet pancake yet, the savoury ones are served on massive plates as sort of open crepes with toppings. Like a pancake pizza. They are very, very filling.

The service has been excellent each time we have been, very smiley and friendly and efficient to boot.

It hasn’t been busy - maybe because we’ve been there before 8pm each time - and has a very informal and relaxed atmosphere.

The drinks are quite expensive but are brilliant. The smoothies taste like the fruit fell straight off the tree and into your glass via a blender. The milkshakes are massive.

I would give it five stars, as the location, service and food is great, but the prices on any day of the week except Monday make it a bit too expensive for what is (ingredients wise) a cheap meal.

Sister to the Kings Road, London branch, this is always a very busy restaurant whatever time of day you pop in to eat. If you want to go in as a larger group at lunch or in the evening, do try to book ahead.

The pancakes here do the job and fill you up, 'tho to my disappointment the menu does change quite regularly and usually that means my favourite dish is knocked off the list. The pancakes are not thick and goeey, but rather thin and dollops of topping (chicken curry topping sounds revolting but is actually quite nice). They arrive on the most enormous blue & white Dutch patterned plates.

The dessert pancakes are of a smaller quantity but I've never yet managed both a main course and dessert pancake in the same sitting.

Service is usually better in the evenings than at lunchtime, we've found.

Prices are reasonable - with a beer (fruit and normal beers readily available, as are soft drinks and the usual other drinks made available in restaurants) you are looking at around £12 for a main course, drink and service charge.

My Old Dutch is a bit of a dissapointment. Don't come here looking for your typical Americana style Pancakes which are usually big and fluffy. Instead these are served in more of a 'dutch' style which similate more to French crepes.
My entrees weren't very good and the pancakes were a let down. The service and location is good.
Only if you really need to eat!

As the name suggests, this place specializes in pancakes. That by the way means the european pancakes, not the american style thick ones. They serve both savoury (e.g. bacon and cheese) and sweet (e.g. vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce) pancakes. The pancakes are very thin but really large and served on a oversized plate. The starters are also highly recommendable, especially the "kaasballen" (fried cheese balls).

The place tends to be busy, but there is a small bar and a corner with a couch to sit while waiting for a table. Service was friendly and fast. The menu is available online on their website.
