1 review of Maidendale Nature & Fishing Reserve in English
This was a 14 acre piece of scrub land caught between an industrial estate and a deprived housing estate. A number of residents felt strong enough to make use of this site for the pleasure, health and education of our children. We have 2 large ponds for fishing and over a dozen smaller ponds for the local greater crested newts who are protected by law. Already we are working with a group called Castlebeck who look after adults and young persons with learning difficulties who visit the site every week to clean up and work with other adults. Its a great lace to relax and enjoy nature, many species of butterflies and insects and coming to Maidendale as time helps it to develope. and soon we will have places set aside for families to rest and enjoy the peace. and its not bad for fishing either!
