This is a review of the flagship Monsoon store on Oxford Street, which is situated near the Selfridges department store.
This is my favourite Monsoon shop, as it carries more stock than any other store. The store is large with plenty of space between clothes sections, which is a useful thing on a busy weekend days. My only issue is the fact that it’s rather dark inside. The ground floor is the women’s section, with small area at the back for men’s clothes. There is more women’s clothing at the basement level, as well as kids clothes and the home accessories.
What can I say about Monsoon, but that it’s the iconic high street store. They are famous for things like ball gowns, occasion clothes and eveningwear. A lot of it can be rather over the top, but a lot of people like that style. All the clothes are very feminine, in the classic style. I don’t care much for the sequin overload, but I’ve managed to find some beautiful, simple silk gowns, more suited to my taste.
In the last few years they’ve had fantastic shoes on offer too, with emphasis on vintage '30s and '40s look.
There is a small select line of lingerie and nightwear available too.
If you are looking for that perfect prom dress, look no further than Monsoon.
