My kind of pub. This place has a great selection of beers, including one that they brew themselves. I couldn’t look beyond that (and it was very nice too).
Out back there is a partially covered courtyard (which slightly unusually you look out upon from the urinal). I didn’t really notice the interior much, given the lovely weather.

Top real ale pub. Nice staff and customers. No music - good selection of Belgian bottled beer. Recommended for couples, real ale fans and friends.
Good real ale pub and reasonably friendly; preferred the Barge though if you were to pick just one.
Great little pub in the centre of Hertford. Brews on site, "OXTale" and "Laugh and Titter" have been sampled... both good. A good range of guest beers, Red Squirrel, Mighty Oak, York, Buntingford, etc, cycle friendly, simple food, real cider, what more could you ask for?
Best real ale pub in Hertford!
Centrally located and very friendly pub situated in a building that was originally a shop!
The beers change regularly however there is normally always one RSB ( Red Squirrel) beer and some unusually named specials too…such as the X42 named after a Birmingham bus route!!
There is one main bar inside and also a covered outside area to increase seating space! However do not worry this is not for smokers!
Food is also served…simple food such as pasties…..ideal to soak up all that lovely beer!!
