I lived in Archway for 5 years and this was a favourite haunt.
A great cafe with a wide range of beautiful breakfasts (a very good eggs benedict, smoked salmon on french toast and an excellent traditional english breakfast) lunches, delicious desserts (all homemade) and smoothies to savour!
A great place to retreat to for a hangover breakfast or equally as a treat for a weekend brunch.
My housemates and I used to go on mass after a big Saturday night out and although we loved the ambience and surroundings (in-house gallery of local artists work hanging on the walls), big numbers did seem to create problems for the kitchen and food could be quite slow. I haven’t been with a group for a long-time so this problem may well have now been corrected. Go along with friends and give it a go, worth it for the food even if you do have a bit of a wait.
The last time I visited, my partner and I went along for lunch and we weren’t disappointed. There was a good choice of mains including, homemade salads, pastas and burgers and as we went in the summer, we sat outside in the moorish style courtyard garden at the back of the cafe. Good service, reasonably priced for good quality fare (not sure if ingredients is locally sourced or organic, but will ask next time I visit and update this review with the answers!) and a great place to relax and hang out with friends. Recommended.
