The Park Inn at Heathrow is convienient located North of Heathrow airport and is only a short bus ride away (approx 10mins). There are hoppa buses available which will collect you and your luggage from outside of the hotel and take you to the airport, however this is at a extra cost, I think this is around £5 each way, but it is best to check with the hotel. If however, like me you do not have much luggage there are normal London transport buses that run along Bath Road, one that will take you to Terminal 5 and another to the central bus station for Terminals 1-4, this will cost you just 90p to get to the airport!
The hotel itself is pretty standard. The facilities are as you would expect, all rooms come with haridryer, kettle, tea/coffee, electronic safe, soap and shampoo. The room was not spacious but it was enough to get around, however, if you have a huge suitcase you might struggle to find a space for it.
The room has some wear and tear, there were some marks on the wall from where I suspect people had put their suitcases, also the bathroom as not very well cleaned as I would have liked, there were still marks of dirt around the place which leaves me to suspect it was a rushed job. The curtains are also very bizarre, they operate on a kind of crank system, where you turn a leaver around and it slowly comes down. Like a plastic shutter, this was not great as there was a slight breeze coming in from a gap somewhere on the window, which made the plastic shutter flap around at night causing a bit of noise, problematic if you are a light sleeper.
Overall for the price paid (£40) it was still a pleasant enough stay. However, when I checked the daily rate listed behind the counter it said over £200, so I would never just drop in if you need a cheap place to stay spontaneously!
