what you need to know about this place is HAPPY HOUR. every night (as far as i know) 'til 9pm. €2 demi & aperitifs, €4 pints... i forget for the wine, i think €2/3 (i don't drink much wine). that is about as cheap as it gets for paris. beyond that, it's a nice chill spot with lots of 20-somethings and ppl in the early 30s. the crowd will depend on the night (read: what sort of music is playing) but it's all posted online so you can check it out beforehand. there are usually 2 or 3 different groups though so you can head upstairs for the ones that are less to your liking. last night was one of the best concerts i've ever been to, and all it cost me was €4 beer. one of the best deals in paris.
Cracking live music venue just off rue Oberkampf in the 11eme. Get yourself a decent feed in Chez Justine round the corner, and then go here for free live music until around 1200 every night. Beers aren’t that cheap at €5.50 a pint, but then, compared to the rest of Paris they probably are. And since you don’t pay to get in, it’s a bargin.
