I was there with my American guest, my German husband and my one-year-old son. Having read a few good reviews and and having read that it was kid-friendly and that it had a hotel attached, we decided to try it out and expected good and friendly service since they seem to take so much pride in their establishment. The food was of good-enough quality, much like any food you'll get for the same price in Heidelberg Altstadt. The place was nice and spacious. The service was prompt but far from friendly. Not a smile was to be seen anywhere. Certainly not what I expected from a restaurant that seemed so welcoming on its website. And there was no English menu although there was one on their website - albeit in quaint English (but at least they tried, so why not print them as well?). The clientele seemed rather arrogant and snobbish (we were there on a Thursday evening) but I suppose that wasn't the restaurant's fault. However, it did add to the unwelcoming atmosphere of the place.
We certainly won't be going there again with our non-German friends as we would rather be welcomed in a restaurant than to be treated like unwanted guests.
