Shoot Experience

Just on a whim, I took part in Shoot Spitalfields, a photo treasure hunt of Spitalfields which took place over four hours on a Sunday. I'm by no means even close to being a good photographer, but I thought it'd be good fun just to explore a part of London I so love.

After seeing the winning entries from previous competitions, we began worry we wouldn't be creative enough to come up with even one good photo, but we needn't have.

That had nothing to do with my team's artistic talents, just that the clues and the locations and, heck, London itself are all so inspiring that every team had at least one outstanding photo... and there were over 50 teams participating!

All in all, I had a blast, and I'd definitely love to take part in another of their events again.

And here's the point I'll admit that one of the reasons I had so much fun was because my team took one of the winning photos, so we'd love to come back to see if we can do it again!

Shoot Experience runs treasure hunts taking place all over London. The next one is Shoot Portobello taking place in March 2010. I think previous areas covered include Hackney and South Bank, and a couple of online ones too.

Shoot Experience is a photographic events company, providing a variety of photographic services such as photo treasure hunts, photography workshops and courses, photo competitions, and more. I've participated in their Shoreditch treasure hunt (and had a blast!) and even took one of their workshops (and learned a ton!). I'd be keen to participate in one of Shoot Experience's events again. Thanks to the "Shoot Shoreditch" treasure I know East London a little better than I did before. And thanks to the Street Photography & Camera Handling I know my way around my SLR much much more than I did before.
