excellent coffee and delicious cakes with good sized portions
sadly cafe felice has now closed
Slippery Banquettes. That is what I will remember Cafe Felice for.
The cakes were OK, they looked brilliant in their display cases. They tasted OK. If they had looked OK and tasted brilliant, that would have been better. If they had both looked and tasted OK that would have avoided the anti-climatical experience.
But while I was busy tasting the disappoinment of my good looking cake, then my daughter was struggling to keep upright on the slippery vinyl banquette opposite me. The seat -like the cake - looked rather special and jsut like the cake it wasn't quite up to the task.
The owner of Cafe Felice used to run The End of the Laines, the very best hot chocolate shop in Brighton. Now the rich, think, delicious hot chocolate drinks that he used to serve at his former shop are at Cafe Felice, along with a range of mouthwatering cakes.
While the decor here is pretty ordinary and the Italian ballads can get on your nerves, if you like hot chocolate, friendly staff and the right to linger over your cup, this is the cafe for you.
