Review of El Mentidero de la Villa from 18 December 2008

Mentidero de la Villa is easily my favourite restaurant in Madrid. And in my world top ten. Yes indeed. This place remarkably combines intimacy, discretion and perfection that I am struggling to find elsewhere. I mean perfection. I mean - weep with pleasure. Weep. The room is elegant, quiet and discreet, the service charming, and the dishes invariably impeccable, thoughtful, velvety and designed to elicit deep emotion. I am torn between telling the whole world about this place, and saying nothing so I can keep it all to myself.
