I’ve been coming here for a nearly a decade and the standards have always remained high. Just look at my haircut on my icon! That’s the type of work Base Cuts produces. It’s very London, very professional, very hip and very trendy. The stylists are experts in their field and know what good style is. You can consult them about your hair and the best products to use, which is always useful. All employees are trained to give a good head massage when shampooing your hair so expect to feel relaxed straight after. It’s always best to book ahead, at least a week, if you have a favourite stylist, otherwise you can walk in and look forward to top hair styling. The most busiest day is Saturday so be warned. The price ranges from the grade of the stylist from junior, top to senior, but don’t be surprised if your bill for a cut, colour and blow dry come up to more than £100. London style is never cheap afterall.

It took me some time to find a decent hairdresser in London, a place where which would not charge silly prices and have some great stylists that stay as opposed to churning every 6 months. I found this place on Portobello Road, on the corner of a little square just before the bridge. And in addition to being a good place to go for hair, it is also quite fun, specially on a Saturday when I typically can find the time to go, since the place has large windows opening on Portobello market, plus a DJ playing some loud but great music while your hair is being cut. And here is a tip: ask for Sophia, she is excellent and has been cutting my hair for the past 5 years at least.
