This isn’t a brilliant review. I just thought you might like to know that I accidentally wandered in this shop because it looked like somewhere nice to buy presents.

Upon realising what it sold once inside, I engaged the shifty ‘argh i’m really embarrassed’ mode and then had to walk round the shop acting like I knew what I was doing so the mode wasn’t noticed by the staff.

I ran away before even noticing they sold cake. Gutted!

So my motivation to go here was the chocolate fondue. No, really! I wanted chocolate fondue real bad. And it was very nice and tasty. It was a little pricey but I thought it very yummy, and I guess it’s not the sort of thing you eat everyday so why not.

But my dessert came with, uh, other things. And obviously, not just the tortilla chips that came with the chocolate fondue (surprisingly super tasty, but appropriate to the store, made me feel sinful). As you can see from everyone else’s reviews, there’s a lot of erotic art, books, and toys around which make for a much more unique environment than Starbucks, and offer up lots of good things to talk about (“this goes… where?”). The environment of this place is incredibly unique. The sex is there, obviously, but you don’t feel trashy or awkward for being there… any qualms disappear after two minutes and your first hello from the staff. They are SO WELCOMING, and they really strive (and I believe, succeed) to make you feel comfortable, no matter what your bedroom tastes are, how reserved or how out-there you may be. They are just as okay with wide-eyed stares of curiosity, as they are to aroused excitement, and best of all to good natured laughter at just how funny some of their kinky things are. It was unexpected for me how there was no “let’s-get-out-of-here-asap” nagging sense in your head-- in the way that perhaps one might drop into Harmony or Ann Summers just to look around, feel kind of sheepish despite the salesgirls’ smiles, and shuffle out with maybe one discrete purchase. No, at CCK, you WANT to hang out here for longer, and it is in fact encouraged! If a full cafetiere just for you with your order of a coffee isn’t encouragement to linger, what is?

Even as a first time visitor I got a sense that there is a community built around this place. The sincere welcome, the surprisingly homey feel, the fact that the staff are just outstanding characters in their own right (great service + interesting characters + straight up friendly people who pay attention to how you may be feeling), the Monmouth Coffee (yum!!) and many, many desserts… almost makes me want to move back to the Covent Garden area!

Oh wait, my stolen wallet has never been found. Never mind. At any rate, go to CCK.

Brilliant!! Looooooove it!! Like a kinky peaceful kingdom in the middle of Covent graden!!
During the day cafe, in the evenings bar. The best thing is, that as the name suggests, it is kinky. Not only you can have a coffe and cake, but you can also get yourself a naughty book, piece of art or a dildo. Staff are lovely. Stuff they sell too. The only down side is that coffee costs like £5 but it is a proper big French press and it’s really nice. I’m about to take my boyfriend one day soon. As a surprise:) For coffee and more…

CCK offers a very nice and friendly environment, and a delicious (and slightly pricy) coffee and cakes fascinatingly combined with erotic books, art, and items for sale. If you’re too shy to buy in the tore, they have a web site too that you can order from. One of the other customers offered to give me a demonstration of a leather spanking device the last time I was there! The place sounds bizarre, but it’s not at all seedy, so do stop by for a cup of joe.

Love it. Looks like a high-class adult bookshop upstairs (and it is), but go to the back and you can order some large, delicious slabs of cake and big French-presses of Monmouth coffee or tea.

Take care going down the seriously steep and shallow stairs to the cozy sofas and benches below. Read your paper, do some laptop-ing, or just peruse the sex toys on display.

Kinky yet comfortable, the sex isn’t too in-your-face. But it does provide automatic topics for conversation! The crowd is always mixed and relaxed.

I actually stumbled upon this den of erotica when walking past with a friend who was desperate for a coffee and said, “look! a coffee shop!” The coffee is excellent, freshly ground from your choice of beans, and there is a selection of nice cakes.
There is little space to sit upstairs, but once seated you can peruse books of erotica, examine interestingly shaped toys, read histories of sexuality, or just look suspiciously at the other customers, wondering what their particular preferences might be…
Run by a woman from Sweden, I believe, the cafe is not interested in porn, but in tasteful erotic arts, and is female-friendly, indeed utterly non-discriminatory and very open and welcoming. It hosts talks, group events and exhibitions (as well as selling a range of vibrators, handcuffs and the like) in its downstairs rooms.
A nice place to get a real cup of coffee, with friendly staff and lots of browsing material.

The hot fudge cake at CCK is the best by far, combined with a superb cup of coffee. The owners are extremely friendly and certain nights are set aside for 'kink' and there are changing erotic art exhibitions apart from the shop. In general, as has been mentioned here, a mixed clientel who apparently become regulars after one visit. Downstairs is a lovely intimate area for a small crowd but do be careful of the stairs they are rather steep. A lovely venue for a themed party such as Retro/Burlesque.

This is a little coffee shop in London devoted to providing a safe place for people to explore their "kink".

The couple who own the joint are delightful, they make a suppa cuppa whilst you are left to delicately peruse all manner of kinky avant garde artwork.

They have poetry readings, fetish groups, art exhibits, lectures and so much more, which make for a truly unique experience in theatre/tourist land.

As they say, this does exactly what it says on the tin: a coffee shop that sells formidable and tempting cakes, superb coffee, with a small art gallery downstairs specialising in erotic art. There's also a small shop area selling books and cards with an erotic theme.

As you might expect, the clientele are suitably mixed: where else would a nice respectable-looking (?!), middle-aged, middle-class couple happily tuck into rich chocolate gateaux next to a couple of extreme goths, and a group of gay men?

The friendliness of the staff and other customers make for a surprisingly unintimidating atmosphere... (And rather more friendly, actually, then some of the other Covent Garden tourist-trap venues close by).
