To ask for credit card details before you have had your meal is wrong to me?..to be polite dont cost anything ..if staff are rude before the meal what are the chances that will improve when you arrive for the meal ..Im sorry but i agree with napper689

Somewhat disturbed by the attitude that I received from the staff whilst trying to book and pay in advance for a Valentine dinner for my wife and I. Sadly the staff clearly do not have any customer service experience and its also very obvious that The Dew Pond is completely recession proof as The Dew Pond can pick and choose its diners. I did actually give my credit card details and was willing to pay in advance only then to be advised that "you dont sound too happy so why dont we cancel everything"
Shame really as we are in the process of selecting a private dining experience for 30 - 40 people and had been thinking of adding The Dew Pond to our short list
Sorry but old fashion good manners cost nothing - but mean a lot !!

A wonderful family run, house restaurant, set in the idylic watership down area. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink on the outdoor decking absorbing the magnificent view of Beacon Hill.
Surperb food from a set menu available at reasonable prices, I’ve never been disappointed. Enjoy a drink with the hosts after your meal.
The Dew Pond also runs a range of wine & food evenings. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.
