The Drunken Monkey is a great bar that serves delicious cocktails and yummy dim sum. Great for informal parties with good music. Really close to Liverpool Street or Old street station and stays open relatively late.

Great interior, black and red Chinese decor, the food was good but i have had better and cheaper. It does get pretty loud as they have a dj spinning tunes pretty early so you get a lot of drunk people dancing around while you eat, thus the name drunken monkey i guess! ahem!

Rather tasty chinese food, take away or eat in the nicely decorated restaurant. Friendly staff, fast kitchen. Highly recommend trying the honey roasted crispy chicken. There’s also rumours of an upcoming delivery service for the area.

Drunken Monkey has a lively, buzzy atmosphere that’s prefect for a Friday or Saturday night out. It’s usually very busy, but it has a great vibe with a fun-loving crowd. They serve delicious dim sum and it’s easy to get carried away and order loads, luckily they offer doggie-bags because the portions are huge! They also do great cocktails – I highly recommend the lychee martini

Like Miss W.. I am a fan of the Drunken Monkey.
The food is delicious, dim sum are my favorite and the Drunken Monkey always produces very tasty litlte parcels, the best have to be the Char Sui buns (Mmmmmm). I prefer this to Ping Pong as I think there is much more atmosphere in the DM- my only complaint that it can be a bit too loud occassionally when you are eating- best if you book a table towards the back away from the bar. I have never been shocked upon receiving the bill and always thoguth it very reasonalbe for the quality and amount of food.
The bar is always packed as they serve very good cocktails- may I recommend the Mojitos!

The Drunken Munkey is a bit overrated in my opinion. The food wasn't that great when I went there and it's difficult to hold a conversation when the place is packed and music is loud.
I had the Dim Sum which was OK, I recommend trekking up to Kingsland Road better and eat at one of the Vietnamese restaurants which are better value for money and cheaper! You can take your own booze too!

I've been walking or riding or bus-ing past this place thinking, "I must go there sometime," for literally years. Now that I've finally been I can say with absolute certainty that I'll be back again. And again.

Dim sum is the Chinese art of the dumpling, and the folk at the Monkey take their art very seriously. They've got steamed, grilled and fried dumplings, along with a whole range of non-dumpling small dishes to share. The steamed seafood dumplings are heaven, as are the drunken ribs and the drunken noodles (no relation to one another). In fact, every single thing we had was absolutely delicious, which represents a rather large section of the menu. If you're in the mood for really good, flavourful, nongreasy Chinese, this is a very good bet. Be prepared to order about 3 dishes per person (plus some noodles). Which, considering dumplings start at £2.50 for 4, is still a pretty great deal.

Yummy cocktails, friendly service and more red paper lanterns than you can shake a stick at round out the experience. Always lively, so booking is highly recommended.
