4 reviews of Carnon Inn in English
I first ate at this restaurant in January 2010 and the food was delightful. I had the fish pie which was exquisite, it tasted like it was cooked correctly rather than tasting like a cheap microwave meal as it has in many other Table Table establishments I have eaten in. I was so impressed I gave my complements to the chef who I believed was a young man named Carl. I have returned since and have been very disappointed with the food. I again had a fish pie, as I was pleased with my previous one, but I feel that this time was rubbery, dry and tasteless. I believe this to be because it was cooked by a different chef. If all of the chef were as good as Carl they would have my custom in the future however they are not so I shall not be returning.
The Carnon Inn is just off of the main road between Falmouth and Truro, it’s attached to the Premier Travel Inn. We dropped in one day almost by accident but were so glad we did, it’s a really large pub with lots of little rooms and booths so you can always find somewhere quiet to sit, they serve real ales and the menu is one of those Traditional Pub Grubs with everything under the sun on it, all well cooked well priced and very tasty.
The view from the back garden is fantastic looking right out over Carnon downs and across the farms and fields towards Redruth.
The staff are always friendly and it’s a great place to go after a long walk around the nearby Trellissick gardens, even in the summer on a weekday it’s fairly quiet and would be good for larger parties or families.
