Went there last night for the NMA Awards. Really nice setting, friendly staff, and lovely food.

My sister and I went here for afternoon tea. I absolutely love afternoon tea. I wouldnt say I'm an afternoon tea connoisseur, but I have visited various establishments and the Grosvenor House Marriott is hands down first class.

The tea room is large, light and airy. The pianist set the relaxed tone as we were served freshly made finger sandwiches with a range of fillings including chicken and oak smoked salmon from Anna's afternoon tea menu. The sandwiches were all freshly made and we were offered a refill.

The buttery plain and raisin scones were still warm tucked under the cloth napkin. As my knife split the first of the scones in two, it opened up to reveal a fluffy and slightly crumbly texture on the inside. Perfect. I swept it generously with the organic clotted cream and the strawberry jam and went in for my first bite. Crumbly. Warm. Sweet and creamy. My eyes lit up with pleasure at the loveliness of it all and purposely slowed myself down to savour every last crumb...

..that was probably a bad mistake as there were some incredibly lovely mini French pastries which we struggled to finish, but with some more hot tea to accompany our treats, finish we did albeit inches from falling into a sugar coma.

Vowing never to stuff ourselves full of that much cake again - well we failed obviously - this place has really set the bar in terms of fine afternoon teas.

Stayed at the Grosvenor House last week. Extremely friendly staff, especially the doormen who showed us where the best parking was located.

The breakfast was good although the staff a little sleepy at times.

Good value and very enjoyable, with great views of Hyde Park.

Adrift in Mayfair for dinner after finding Benares impossibly noisy, we washed up at the JW Marriott (Grosvenor House) and were given a private room in the newly renovated steakhouse grill. The service was friendly and professional, particularly from a young French waitress, and we settled down with some warm foccacia and their open Moulin A Vent - and had the best fish and chips I have ever eaten! The gorgeous crispy fat chips and superb crusty fillet of cod with tartare sauce was a masterpiece. It's not cheap - (£133 for three) as we had no starter and only coffee, but as a quiet and delicious refuge it was faultless.

This hotel is now a JW Marriott having gone a massive refurbishment programme and is now back to where it shoudl be. One of the best hotels in Park Lane.

The rooms are lovely - the beds very comfortable and the bathrooms all marble and stunning! The service of the hotel is fantastic - the concierge top class!
I love the new Bordeaux restaurant which is open for breakfast , lunch & dinner and has a lovely outdoor terrace overlooking Park LAne & Hyde Park. There is also a little coffee shop just by Bordeax, nea the Park Lane entrance which sells sandwiches, pastries and coffees and the prices are the same as a Starbucks and the quality much better - so if you find yourself in Park Lane and need a quick caffeine fix and snack and don’t want to pay 5 star prices - go there!

I’ve attended 2 balls here in the ballroom, and it’s faultless. The food was amazing (especially considering the numbers that were being catered for), and the precision service was amazing, and always with a smile. You don’t get that everywhere!
