Oh god, what a misadventure this was. We had booked tickets to see Juno at the Vue and wanted to get some dinner beforehand and I had been wanting to try this restaurant due to it’s consistently good response on this here website.
However, it was Saturday night, we arrived around 8pm with only an hour to spare. This restaurant is not large and is certainly not overstaffed.
We were stuffed into a corner and forgotten about for 15 minutes at which point we were handed menus.
About 30 minutes later our food arrived and thus ensued a somewhat hilarious exchange where the waitress thrust a dish into my face and stated ‘halibut’, I responded saying ‘haddock?’
‘Halibut’
‘I ordered haddock’
‘Halibut!’
‘No, Haddock.’
‘Halibut!’
‘I didn’t order halibut’
‘Halibut!’
I accepted the halibut, as we didn’t have time to change it. We ate our food in about 6 minutes, paid and literally ran to the cinema, nearly greeting our dinner so soon after ingesting it.
The food was very nice, I think (it was so quickly done with that I had no time to savour, just shovel). It was averagely priced, mains £8-£16 ish. I am willing to give it a second chance in the future, but definitely not when in a rush.

I used to live just down the road from this restaurant and developed a taste for their wonderful Pierogi (a very popular polish food similar to ravioli with a variety of different fillings) I found the waiters and waitresses to be excellent and extremely friendly (they are all polish and it may help that I am normally with my polish girlfriend whenever we go!) The pierogi is the best out of all the reastaurants I have eaten in the UK by far and is served with a fantastic beetroot soup which also far surpasses anything else I've - so far - experienced.
Patio serves an excellent range of beers and polish vodkas which are apparently popular by the number of people partaking of them whenever I visit! There is an outside area for smokers and the decorations, whilst undeniably gaudy, lend the place an idiosyncratic joi de vivre. This would be a good place to bring a small group of friends looking for a fun and delicious dinner in warm friendly surroundings.

Been here several times and have really enjoyed the atmosphere. Cheap, cheerful, honest. You get authentic polish food - more suited to the colder than warmer months of the year :-) 3 courses, with a shot of vodka included. Very popular with groups from the BBC, which is nearby. My wife had her 30th birthday party here (you can hire downstairs) so it has a fond place in my heart. Don't expect haute cuisine though. Great fun.

Over the past several years I've eaten at The Patio at least 6 times and can't say that I've had a bad meal there. Warm atmosphere, homemade perogi, great desserts with a vodka are trademarks of this Shepherds Bush institution. Highly recommend the duck and Borscht soup.
Not terribly busy during the week, but would recommend the upstairs for the best atmosphere.
