Booked a table for 2, thought it would be best, then there is no disappoinment if we had to wait.
Very nice inviting place to go. Staff very welcoming.
Good choice on menu and specials board. Nothing was to much trouble. Asked if they could leave bacon out of a dish and they said it wasnt a problem. Fabulous service, excellent food.
Highly recommend. Will definitely be going back.

Waited five to ten minutes for a table as they were busy, very friendly staff was made to feel welcome a soon as we walked through the door, the food was excellent, service was very prompt would highly recommend, they have just had the roof terrace done also which is great for those nice days looking forward to going back

I think since this review was posted the Landlord being so difficult has left the premises earlier this year, which is probably a good thing from what you wrote!
I have eaten & drunk here lots of times this year, more so since he left & have always found the food excellent & the service much improved.
I think the Landlady is trying really hard to get over some of the problems there were previously & maybe it’s worth a return visit & a new review?

we have visited this pub on numerous occasions, just for a drink, and once for some food, which is excellent, when they can be bothered to take your food order, we visited on newyears eve day, the pub was not busy and on asking if food was being served was told we will have a wait for it,so we said yes we would be prepared to wait and ordered drinks, we went to the bar to order the food and then were told that they were not taking orders, we were annoyed as we have bought drinks. the annoying thing was, was that our daughter and son in law and travelled some fair distance to meet us to have lunch in this pub,on our recommendations. we have heard on other occasions the landlord say to others they would have a long wait for food. On leaving the pub dissapointed we noticed that the pubs food is being served sign still out on the road side, so if you plan to visit this pub don't assume you will get a meal.
