This is just your average run of the mill pub, but I like that. It's hard sometimes in London and particularly in this area to go somewhere without up themselves clientele or banging music.
This is a pub to go to, to drink beer and to maybe eat some chips. It also has a dart board which I'm yet to try but it's always very popular!
Hmmm. A rather unusual pub for a Saturday. Unusual in that when my friend and I walked in, we double the amount of people in there. Very very quiet.
And actually, it's not the best pub in the world. Or even in Farringdon. But it does have some upsides. Some really unusual decoration (there's a row of porcelain gin dispensers which I'd love to get my hands on) but they were also playing some great music too. It's not very often you hear people playing Kula Shaker and Faith No More one after the other. I like it.
But I don't think it's enough to draw me back. There's just too many other pubs in the area that are a mark better then this. I think this is the lowest rating I've given a pub in this area. I'll be popping back to one of the four stars pubs instead.

This pub manages to feel like something of a locals pub despite being part of Central London. I think this gives the pub a certain charm, although if too many non locals such us myself go along then it might lose that (so I guess I should be giving it a bad review :) ).
Serves the usual Young’s ales 7 days a week (shorter opening times on Sundays). The guy behind the bar was a friendly, jovial chap. This pub is definitely a good option for some post work drinks.
Pub was built between 1835 and 1840 so has been around a while!

Shhh … don’t tell anybody about this gem of local pub on a quaint little street in Clerkenwell. I really don’t want it overrun with tossers. Me thinks the Sekforde is my favourite pub in Clerkenwell (and that’s saying a lot because there’s some stiff competition round here). The Young’s ales on tap are luscious, the fireplace is lovely on a winter’s night and the dartboard is much appreciated. God I love this pub. I mean, why am I not there right now?

A pub in EC1, with a dart board. No, you're not dreaming. No, you haven't been catapulted back into the 1970s. This is (now) 2009 and the masterpiece of wire and bristle is still proudly hanging in position.
Forget the old school bar food or the ambience of a real local (you know, where you're actually thankful that there is the very occasional sense that random violence may break out-just to keep it authentic!), the 5 stars here are purely for the courage of not swaying to the vicissitudes of London trends and tarting up this proper boozer. Guv'nor.
Are you ready? Let's.....play....DARTS!
