RAMADA Hotel Magdeburg

I stayed there several times a few years ago and loved it everytime. The food in the restaurant was great, the breakfast was one of the best ones I have ever had in a hotel and the staff nice and friendly. And the room prices were affordable. Based on this, I would have given this agreat grade. However... the 4th time I stayed there, in December 2008, somebody went in to my room when I was down eating breakfast and stole my cellphone from the nightstand. I reported it to the staff and they didn't apologize nor admit the possibility that anyobody could have gone into the room since "it wasn't time for cleaning the room." Even though I had seen a cleaning lady leaving the corridor that my room was located in when I stepped out of the elevator after I came back after breakfast. Because of the sole reason that the hotel staff never apologized or showed any concern that my cellphone was stolen, I give it a 2 star review. It's a shame cause it is a lovely hotel with great food. I have never returned since, and won't. Next time I passed Magdeburg, I stayed at Herrenkrug.
