ALERT - QYPE SCAM - DIRECT MIS SELLING SCHEME.
I HAVE BEEN DUPED INTO PAYING MORE THAN 700GBP TO THESE FRAUDSTERS FOR NOTHING IN RETURN. THE BUSINESS NEVER MATERIALISED. I WAS TOLD INITIALLY BY CLARISA HENDERSON THE TELEPHONE SALES AGENT AND HER MANAGER THAT THERE WOULD BE NO CONTRACT NO TIE IN. SO AFTER MY INITIAL PAYMENT MY ADD WENT UP AND NOTHING. THEN I PAID NO FURTHER PAYMENTS BECAUSE THIS SCHEME IS CLEARLY BOGUS. I THEN RECEIVE THREATENING LETTERS FROM THEM SAYING I AM IN ARREARS AND THAT I OWE THEM NEARLY A 1000GBP.
I HAVE EVERY INTENTION OF GETTING ALL MY MONEY BACK..
PLEASE PLEASE AVOID GIVING THIS BUSINESS YOUR BANK DETAILS. IT WILL BE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU MAKE. I WILL BE GOING TO THE CONSUMER COUNCIL AND TRADING STANDARDS AS WELL AS SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE.
THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN CONTACT THEM BECAUSE THEY DO NO TAKE MY CALLS OR ANSWER MY EMAILS.

What a load of nonsense qype is having had our business on here for years it only came apparent how pathetic Qype is this year.
As you are aware it is so easy for anyone to post any comments about any business with having to hear both sides of the story, and to be honest how many business want Qype staff as their in between liaison officer.
Their staff are rude and blatant promises are borderline pathetic we sent at least 12 emails stating the following PLEASE REMOVE OUR BUSINESS FROM YOUR SITE.
After agreeing many of times we are still waiting.
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE IN ADVERTISING YOUR BUSINESS ON THIS SITE.

APRIL 22nd still no contact from this farce of a company, i hope this is proof before anyone else decides to advertise their business with this company
After 6 months and numerous attempts to contact them no joy !!!!
After the first round of undelivering, our company gave them a second chance to deliver their promises, and promote our business with the money they had already scammed from us. 6 months have gone by - no account manager - nothing heard, and despite reassurances they can't be bothered to answer any emails or phone calls. Perhaps this review may spur someone into action and give us the refund for the money taken over a year ago and providing no service

Did you have a moneyback guarantee contract with them? If so, they have to honour the agreement based on the stats you see through YOUR admin panel and NOT what they see on ‘their screen’. I took this service with them and, although the did deliver traffoic, they didnt hit their targets and so I got all my money back from a whole 12 month contract. Yo be fair I did have to chase it for around 3 months but I did get every penny back.

Now 16 weeks later and still no money despite regular chases. Every excuse under the sun so far. Emailed the CEO but have not even received the courtesy of an acknowledgement or response.
For a company that encourages company reviews I find this all quite shoicking and VERY disappointing. Hope this can be quickly resolved but am now forced to seriously consider legal action. If anyone has or is having similar problems please get in touch?
Such a shame as its a great site and the free offering is very good but dont offer terms that you cant adhere to and rake client money under false pretences.

I am delighted to say that we have now had our agreement honoured and the refund due to us paid in full. We are now looking to take up a different premium advertising contract with QYPE.
We never had any issues with the site itself and actually think that it is one of the best structired reveiw sites in the UK marketplace. Just very frustrating when you have to chase something you are legally entitled to/promised.
Hopefully this is the start of a new and successful professional relationship with the team at QYPE.
I joined by fluke a few years ago and have been enjoying their service ever since. As a user and reviewer on Qype, I trust the members on here will review places and experiences honestly, and I always search for businesses on the site to see what people say before deciding to go there!
There have just been too many times that I've been somewhere terrible and then looked at the Qype reviews found out that others have had disappointing experiences too. I've kicked myself that I hadn't visited this site first! In fact if a place hasn't got a good review here (and I check how many reviews the reviewer's have made), then I won't go there!
It's also great to find new places, I use the App frequently to search for deals and good places out nearby, and I haven't been disappointed yet.
This site is invaluable!
It's also easy to use, just insert the name of a place and location and away you go! The social side is also fantastic and I've found the guides quite useful.
Five stars guys - keep up the good work!

Qype is scam, fraud, full of lies don't advertise your business with them.
I have sign up with qype in jun 2012, every thing was wrong on qype local business regarding my business, i have called back to ask them to correct their mistake nothing is been done till today, even i have call them twice, they did not get me a single potentioal cutomer or visitor on my business site, i was given option to cancel any time also refund if they don't get me enough potential cutomers, i called them regarding cancellation and refund, they threat me of debt collectors. qype is fraud, they ripping people off.

That what i was told. Funny how so many people are in the same situation. Have spoken to an accounts manger and he has told me that the girl Stephanie has left. She was the one who sold me the premium package with the understanding i could try 30 days and then not satisfied i could cancel, which i did. You are not authorised to take money out of my account. There has been no instruction for direct debit. I have not been sent a contract and have not signed anything. Delete my account and leave me alone.
Qype has pretty much become part of my life over the past few years. I really like gathering information about a new place (I keep a notebook in my bag specifically for that purpose) and writing reviews when I get home – it makes day trips much more fun! Not that I’m addicted to Qype (!) but I often choose to visit somewhere entirely new for the sole reason of having some new reviews to write afterwards. Many a time my husband has suggested going to a particular place for lunch, only for me to say, “But I’ve reviewed that for Qype already – can’t we go somewhere else?”!! I also take photos of everything I review (sometimes several) and I enjoy uploading them when I get back.
Sometimes, when I’ve run out of places to review I’ll have a “Qype Day” when I go to another town and review everything I can, either on my own or dragging my long-suffering husband around with me. That means lots of shops to explore (retail-therapy along the way of course); lunch in one place, coffee in another – maybe a drink or two in a pub if I’m not driving! Then there are parks, monuments and statues, galleries and so much more.
Since I’ve been reviewing for Qype I’ve become much more observant and even developed some new interests as a result, specifically in public sculpture and also the history of interesting buildings.
I’ve also made some good friends through Qype who have commented on my reviews and we have subsequently discovered similar interests in common!
I’ve always had friendly helpful service from everyone at Qype when I’ve had a question. I bought a clock through one of the Qype Deals recently and it was faulty so I had to send it back. The firm didn’t sort it out for me but the lovely people at Qype Deals were extremely helpful – they rectified it for me and ensured that I got a refund quickly.
Qype is unsurpassed as a means of finding out what places are like when planning a trip. Reviews often give praise as well as criticism allowing you to make a proper judgment about using a business or service; they are more likely to be unbiased as they are customer led. I’ve looked at a few other review websites which have sprung up over the past few years but, without a doubt, Qype is vastly superior. I love Qype!! Long may you reign supreme!!!

Qype is great. I’ve been using it for a while now and it’s so useful. So useful in fact, that I had to start contributing myself, so I’ve written quite a few reviews in a short time.
It’s actually my first port of call for anything in my local area, thanks to the neat Qype smartphone app that can show me all the best reviewed places near me.
Long may you survive, oh mighty Qype :)
And because of my loyalty they have made me a special Very Important Qyper (VIQ) meaning I get invitations to cool events and such. This is nice, and makes me like them even more.

Nobody got back to me after the initial responses other than to say they couldn’t find an issue. I gave up and relegated Qype to another screen, and have, for the most part, stopped using it entirely. I noticed there was a software update but I haven’t checked to see if it works now.
