Review of Twenty Nevern Square Hotel from 18 July 2012
I was looking forwards to staying in this hotel for an over-nighter after a local concert. The reviews that I had checked out were pretty reasonable and so I went ahead and booked. It is perfectly located, very close to Earls Court Exhibition Centre and Tube station. It is a place of real contradictions. Very courteous and cheerful staff and a quick check in made a very pleasant welcome. The room (with a four poster) was actually very small and a bit gloomy, being on the basement level. The bed was a four poster but only just with some failrly rough-cut timber posts sticking up - hardly luxurious. The linen was crisp and clean but the mattress was a little too firm for my liking. The bed covers were very nice though but being quite dark, they actually added a little to the gloomy feel. A welcome apple was a nice little touch. The bathroom was equally small and the lack of a shower screen or curtain made the floor wet each time that we showered. Oddly, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and we asked for tea to be brought to our room before we went out. After a half hour wait, we had to leave without any tea. There was a wierd humidifier-type machine in the room that was emitting some pleasant-smelling vapour but we think that it might have been to disguise a slightly damp smell. The bedding had a very slight feeling of being damp too although we weren't sure of this. One thing that was for sure was the fact that it was quite cold in the room when we got back late at night and we had to plug in the electric radiator-type heater to warm the room up (yes - in mid-July!) The very heavy curtains did a great job of blocking out the early morning summer daylight. Didn't make breakfast so I can't comment on that. The staff did store our baggage over the next day though and we retrieved that all intact later on. All in all a bit of a quandrary how to grade the place. Its a bit of a rabbit warren with quite a few steps and corridors. Our room, being at the rear of the building, was pretty quiet and we did sleep well. Its not a four star hotel though, in any way shape or form. A bit of fruit doesn't make up for some of its short-comings and I won't return there.

in my opinion one of the best hotels in london, small hotel, great service breakfast, central location just 3 minutes to the subway, in a quiet location, supermarket is also nearby.

Review of Twenty Nevern Square Hotel from 24 November 2011

Recently stayed there, and I had a bit of a mixed experience.

The positives: the location (convenient, quiet, close to tube, etc); friendly staff; apples everywhere; very clean; comfy bed; nice breakfast, with newspapers. (The Continental breakfast is included, cooked extra).

The negatives: to do with the room, really. It was on two levels, down a long corridor which felt a bit of an annex, although in reality it is one floor of the adjacent building. On the ‘ground floor’ level was a decent enough bathroom, with a single chair and occasional table outside. The bathroom was expensively appointed but getting a little rough around the edges.

Upstairs was a sleeping platform with a huge and comfy bed, but an incredibly low ceiling, in the middle of which was a beam. It was painted purple to make it stand out, but inevitably I hit my head on it at one point. The ceiling is only 5’ 9" high – anyone taller would have to bend over all the time. And the beam is about 5ft off the ground, and you can only access the bed by walking past it. (See photos)

The dressing table and wardrobe were up there, too, so for tall people it really would be most unpleasant. To the side of the bed was a cubby hole fitted with velvet mattresses and cushions, like a sort of snug. I’m no sure what you’d do with it, though, as you couldn’t easily see the TV from it.

The other problem was that above is an apartment which is not owned by the hotel. The owners (or visitors?) returned from a night out at 2am and made a lot of noise until 3.30am. Not good for me as I was working next day. I told the staff who said they would complain to the neighbours, but I’m not sure they would have much control over the situation.

Clean, quiet and very friendly hotel right between Kensington and Earls Court. We have rented the uppermost room where you open the door and first have to climb a private staircase...

The bathroom is very small but functional.

When we got into our room, we found a small basket with apples on our bed - a warm address of welcome by the landlord.

Breakfast is exceptional. You can choose from English and Continental, fresh fruit, a wide choice of cereals, tea and coffee.

Not cheap but worth every penny!

Review of Twenty Nevern Square Hotel from 2 October 2008

Super beautiful hotel in a very good neighbourhood near the Kensington Palace! The underground station "Earls Court" is right around the corner and one sleeps well at night there. The "continental" breakfast (buffet also with fresh fruit) is inclusive - if you insist on an 'English Breakfast' you'll have to pay and extra £9. The service is very friendly and courteous and there is a constant supply of apples, tangerines and tea in the lounge for the guests. The rooms are original and clean. A truly good choice of hotel for London. Price per night: £109.

Very friendly hotel stiuated perfectly for earls court tube.

Set in a geogian town house twenty nevern square has only a handful of rooms but all of them are unigue and individually styled, The furniture is beautiful including luxurious hand carved sleigh beds.

I have stayed there a few times and each time in a different room and ive enjoyed my stay everytime the staff are friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is very good and served in a lovely breakfast roomwhich over looks a small courtyard.

considering its so close to the action it remains very quiet and you almost feel like you are at home, infact if i had to live in a hotel it would be this one.

Well located boutique hotel in Earl's Court/Kensington, with stylish contemporary rooms. Quiet location on Nevern Square, only 2 steps away from tube station and Earl's Court exhibition centre.
You can get a single for around £90.
