Favourite cafe in West End, actually make that Glasgow. Fab coffee, comfy sofas and little peices of tablet for 25p. Love it.

Feels like walking into a student flop pad. The staff are all lovely and the space is really open and there are great views out on the the trees by the river Kelvin.
The only real offering here is coffee and the milk is the best I've seen in Glasgow. The staff do good latte art, which shows pride in their product. The coffee tastes burnt and poor quality though.
The food here is very basic and overpriced for what it is. They also charge extra for butter.
Basically, it's an internet cafe and is a good place to hang with your friends if you don't mind the general shabbiness.
Offshore is a café on a corner of Gibson Street located very close to where the river Kelvin meets Kelvingrove Park. I have always admired the elegance of the curve of the tenement at this corner.
Knowing that Offshore offered free WiFi I had arranged to meet someone to give them a laptop with a wireless PC card I no longer needed. The café has some pleasant sofas but since it appeared to be quite popular with students with laptops all the sofas were occupied and I had to make do with an upright seat. I had a coffee which cost 1.90 and my understanding was that I could take up to an hour to relish it. Their WiFi connection worked fine [one guess what the passphrase is!]. I was using the laptop’s battery but I noticed some customers were plugged into the mains.
The staff were pleasant and friendly and the café was quite a nice, relaxed and comfortable place to be with a coffee and laptop for an hour.
Hands down the best café while I was in Glasgow. I went there most every day of my vacation. Comfortable couches and the coffee tasted great plus a friendly/unpretentious staff. Great ambiance unmatched by any of the other trendy and impersonal cafes in Glasgow. Plus a great place for people watching or studying.
What a nice wee café! I loved the cozy atmosphere and the cool indie music. The food is simple but really nice and the not too expensive. I had a small bowl of spinash and potato curry and a weird fizzy lemonade. Staff was nice as well. Certainly one of the best place to hang out if you’re a student from University of Glasgow, or if you’re just having a walk in the area.
