Yamas Meze & Tapas, Nottingham

One of my favourite lunch time restaurants. The tapas menu is really good value, always very tasty and fresh – good for vegetarians too. We visit 3 or 4 times a year, and have always been made very welcome by the owner.
I’ve also had an evening mezze menu here which was excellent too.

Small friendly restaurant. We booked this after seeing it on Trip Advisor, whereas TA can be misleading and hyped by the business owner, the good reviews must have been genuine. We found the food and atmosphere excellent and would recommend this to friends.

We had the meze and was lovely especially the stifado.

Very poor service, staff rude, food appalling.

I ordered the Lamb Tagine and it was like leather, upon complaining I was told there was nothing wrong with it and treated like a fool.

We went to yamas tonight for a change, and what can I say other than awful!

I'm not sure what happened to the atmosphere that the other reviewers mentioned, unless the waiter / owner leering at us counts.

Confusing menu, and our main course was badly cooked and very overpriced.

Needless to say, we will not be returning.

I love this restaurant, we have been several times with friends and the atmosphere is just like you would expect in a Greek taverna. The father runs the place and you can see his wife and daughter helping out (when they're not sat chatting in a traditional Greek manner), the food is fantastic, fresh and authentic. The owner is a lovely man who always finds time to come and talk to you. I am sure it is not always so but the 6 or 7 times I have been he has always offered us a free drink at the end of our meal.

I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great value tapas food in a lovely welcoming environment. The range of dishes on offer is excellent, and the portion sizes are very generous for this kind of food. The waiting staff are extremely helpful, and the food tastes great!
