I rarely ever comment on reviews or indeed write reviews but what a load of crap u wasted yr time writing here. The North Pole is a perfectly fine boozer – surely people want there lager ice cold as opposed to warm? It does a good trade and seems very popular with the tourists and locals. I dont use it that often but have tried the restaurant and the bar and found it be be good. Are u working for a competitor!

greenwichboy, 9 December 2012:
We loved it. Slightly grubby and the bouncers are a bit over the top with their rules and regs. Oh, and it's the sweatiest place on earth. For these points I remove a star. 4 stars of true awesomeness though.
Will return.
Enjoy :)

It's a lovely restaurant and we had 3 courses for about £17 which isn't bad at all. I've been here twice now and the second time round the seem to have amended the menu to include some classics, such as burgers, fish and chips and bangers and mash as well as the classier dishes. So it's a great variety.
For starter I had chicken with satay sauce, the sauce was on the side and I think it should have been on top of the chicken. For main I had burger, which was huge and meaty - I could't eat it all. Dessert was chocolate fudge cake which was moist and lovely. I did enjoy my food as did my partner, but it wasn't mind blowing, perfect if like us you were out for the day and wanted somewhere peaceful where you could chat and relax.
It's about a 5-10min walk to Greenwich market so it means that you're out the way enough that you're not scrabbling for seats or queuing for ages but close enough to have a lovely post meal meander around the market and if you're feeling especially active, up the hill to the observatory.

went here for my wifes birthday last sunday. there was 14 of us and we had the red room in the restaurant. its been refurbed since my last visit and looks very nice. the menu was £14.95 for 2 courses and we all had a roast which was very good. Not sure about the previous review but suppose they must have had an off day? Went down to the bar after and heard a wicked band and was told that the pianist plays with Squeeze and Pete Dohertry. It was a brill day and highly reccommend this place.

Great place to socialise there's a bar, a club in the basement and a restaurant upstairs. Having been before to the bar and club we decided to try the restaurant. Unfortunately the food and service in the restaurant did not live up to the hype or the prices charged. When we received our main meal the potatoes tasted stale as if they'd been microwaved and I couldn't cut through my roast beef...when the waitier asked if everything was ok we explained and he said yes it had been cooked in the morning and yes it had been reheated and what did I expect at 7pm on a Sunday? I was in complete shock...If the restaurant is open for a dinner service then they should have a chef to cook fresh food not plate up reheated food from the morning!!!! being in shock we decided to pay the bill and leave. Will definately not be going back here for a meal, which is a shame because its got great potential.

My sister had her hen night here. There was also a stag night going on too so you can imagine it was quite lively. It has a fantastic atmosphere and was really buzzing. The bar upstairs is called the North Pole and then there is a bar downstairs called the South Pole. The South Pole bar that looks like it is made out of ice; the whole disco area is supposed to replicate an ice bar and does quite a good job of it. There were big burly bouncers at the door who you wouldn’t want to mess with. All in all we had a fantastic evening. The music was good and not too loud and there were no scuffles or fights. The drinks weren’t too expensive either.

we get to this pub usually around 8pm for a few drinks and end up staying to the early hours in the club downstairs.
the drinks are slightly expensive, but its worth it for such a nice location and bar.
they have leather couches up stairs which are really comfortable but u will not get one if its busy.
the downstairs is a nice small club with ok music. to dance the night away. it seems a lot of people come here before going to the Venue in new cross
Not the easiest place to get to but then again if your not too lazy then its is a short walk from Greenwich.
