Vale Hotel Golf & Spa Resort, Hensol, Pontyclun

Oh wow is all i can say. Ive gone here a few times as a guest on my friends gym pass. It is FAB. I would love to join this gym and live in this hotel and eat at the restaurant but unfortunately i cant afford the prices. It is very expensive but if your minted then go for it!

Overrated sums up this hotel. I have been here four times, stayed twice, attended a wedding, booked the spa (or tried to!) and attended a corporate training function. Perhaps my lack of excitement comes from the fact that I don’t play gold which seems to be what this hotel is all about; buggies outside and everyone in plus fours! Seriously the wedding I attended in August was a good friend of mine and she’s paid c. £30 a head for the meal which was frankly awful, cold, tatseless and had the distinct look of pre-cooked food. The spa however is wonderful if you can get booked in, the staff rarely answer wth telephone and no-one replies to emails, despite bombarding you with marketing literature to draw your interets. That said on the one occasion I successfully booked in I would say it is probably the best spa in South Wales. You’ll need to de-stress after pulling our you hair trying to book it!

The Vale hotel is stunning. It has an amazing golf course and driving range although I didn’t play myself I have heared it provides a good game. The Spa & Wellness centre is brilliant and offers so many treatments to make you feel relaxed. The Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Id recommend this hotel and also its convenient location.

The service at this hotel is excellent, along with the food and the decor. It is set in a beautiful location, making you feel your in the middle of nowhere. The gym and leisure facitlities are glorious!!

I have just started working in this hotel as an events assistant, and after my 12 hour shift I started to hate the place more and more, but after clearing up and finishing laying out about 30 tables for the next arrivals as we got to the kitchen there were dishes of delicious food we could finish off! And it really did taste like heaven! Maybe it was because of exhaustion or just pure good cooking, but this is a really beautiful hotel and full of luxuries! It is a very high standard hotel and is very expensive to stay in, but at the end of the day you know your getting high quality service. It has been a pleasure to work here so far, although the hours can be long all staff are friendly, and if anyone has a special event booked like a dinner party or a wedding I promise not to drop any forks on you like I did on my first day!

I have been working in the Vale Hotel now for just over a month and I have grown the like the hotel very much. I have also been to check out the golf course and driving range, I remember my brothers taking me here when I was very small and I didn’t really appreciate how beautiful the golf course really was! The only down side is that it costs a bomb to be a member here and unless you’re a regular golfer then there really is not much point in joining and only playing about 5 times. The hotel offers a lot of activities which include a Tennis Court, Sauna, Fitness Centre, Golf Course (within 3 km), Fishing, Solarium, Spa & Wellness Centre, Massage, Jacuzzi, Cycling, Turkish/Steam Bath, Squash and Indoor Swimming Pool. Each one of these have been designed for your convenience.

Working in the Events departments I can promise you that the service is excellent! The Christmas Party’s, Weddings and Business party’s offer a wide range of packages varying in prices, I would recommend choosing a slightly more expensive package if you want the best food. The rooms the events are held in are beautiful, we decorate each one to your liking.

The one thing that I truly love about this Hotel is the bar in reception (The Salamander Bar) There are such a wide range of ale’s whiskeys and spirits, and the cool purple lighting gives a warm sleek feeling to place which makes you want to stay there all night, and is the prefect place for a quick drink after work!
