Me and 3 friends went to Hui Wei. I booked a table. Hui Wei is quite a large restaurant, there were quite a few tables but because we booked a table the friendly welcomer took us to one of there better tables, a rounded table.
Some people say it's expensive but it's in the City Centre where the rates are sky high. The restaurant itself looks great it has an authentic Chinese touch about it, it's slick it looks expensive. They also have a piano inside and someone was playing on it.
I ordered a Duck with ginger and spring onion dish which was £9 + boiled rice £2. Most of the dishes are between £8-£11. The food didn't take long at all for them to cook it, I reckon we waited 15-20 mins. The food was outstanding and we all gave our meals 10/10. I can't remember what my friends had but we all enjoyed it. The duck was cooked to perfection, I did think though that the pieces were slightly too big and because they don't have knifes you have to cut it in half with your spoon or fork. You also can use traditional chop sticks. They don't do chips, but when you taste of how the rice tastes you actually automatically go off the idea of having chips with the dish anyway, the rice was great tasting nice and fluffy, and again cooked to perfection.
The staff here are possibly without a doubt the most friendliest I have met, always smiling and all who we passed on our way out said thank you. I will definitely be coming back here. Great food, great people, great place to eat in.

Good food. Good atmosphere. No John Smiths, but they had Worthingtons. Portions were really small, think it came to about £50 for both of us, but could taste it was nicer quality than other Chineses and the food was presented better. Would go again. Only thing we didn’t like was sitting in the little booth thing they put us in. Some people might find it romantic, but we couldn’t see what was going on. There was a guy on the piano when we arrived, but stopped not long after and he didn’t make another appearance.

Visited the Hui Wei with friends last week & was very impressed.
The restaurant is in a lovely old building in the centre of Sheffield next to the tram tracks. There is a Weatherspoons next door, so we could even have a few cheap drinks before we ate.
The food in the Hui Wei was superb and the staff were very attentive.
The restaurant was extremely busy and I would definitely go back next time I visit Sheffield.

After graduating from university myself and my family visited the Hui Wei in Sheffield and I have to say it was the nicest Chinese restaurant I have ever visited. The service is faultless and the menu is excellent. There are so many unique dishes that you will not find in other Chinese restaurants and my boyfriend loved the XO sauce dishes. Even my parents loved the food and they are usually very wary of Chinese restaurants. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in Sheffield.

This is by far my favourite restuarant in Sheffield. The food is fantastic and the staff are fantastic.
Try the crispy squid with chilli as a starter but to be honest the whole menu is worth trying

Simply the best Chinese I’ve ever eaten. Even my dad was impressed and that’s saying something! Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, reasonably priced, delicious food, generous portions. All you could ask for. The interior is very cool, modern and clean yet still relaxed. Seabass is highly recommended, as is the platter for starters.
