Killiney Bay

This is actually my favourite beach near Dublin (yes, it is possible to have some sort of beach life in Ireland. At least on two days per year). A gentle pebbly beach with great looks to Killiney to the north and Bray Head to the south. No wonder that people like Neil jordan and Enya have houses here. Even makes for a nice walk in Autumn and Winter, when it's even less crowded that in Summer.

A lovely, tranquil beach and place to walk - though so close to Dublin! Take the Dart down to Killiney Station and walk along the beach on a nice evening. We have stayed in Killiney a few times but it’s been for work so there hasn’t been much free time. The beach is unspoilt and uncommercialised and you don’t meet many people. A lot of celebrities live in some of the mansions around there so you never know who you might see out with his dog! We were told that nearby Dalkey Hill was well worth a climb for the magnificent views but, alas, we didn’t have the time for anything other than a few brief strolls.
