This Claire’s is quite busy- so the locals must love it. Personally, I find items are often overpriced and shopping around would allow you to find similar items for less. The majority of items are pocket money prices and I suppose that the target market is kids- teenagers and people looking for fancy dress. As a consequence I find items are of poor quality- bracelets and necklaces have tarnished and left green marks on my skin, earrings have broken, hair bobbles have snapped. I would say this is a great place for fancy dress, but for everyday items, I don’t think it is up to scratch.

My first recommendation to a friend who was after a wig for an 80’s party, if you want accessories this should be your first stop.

It sells accessories and what a load of accessories it sells as well. You’ll find hair bands, clips, grips, elastics in all sorts of colours and styles, and a large selection of jewellery such as earrings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets and more.

There’s so much you can easily be caught in here for a good half hour trying to make your mind up on what to buy, but resist and only get what you need, otherwise you can easily come out of here buying lots more than you bargained for ('I mean what’s a pound here or there?’ as I heard one woman exclaim to her friend).
